Vintage room on the edge of the woods

La Folie Douce was born from a crush on a 1900s building, a little sleepy, but full of character and promise. For several years, we have been patiently renovating it, step by step, with our hands, our energy and our passion. Here, every stone, every beam, every floor tells a part of this adventure. We imagined, restored and shaped everything ourselves, respecting the soul of the house. The space Sheltered from the main roads, our house is nestled in the heart of Normandy like a quiet breath between the Seine and the forest. You arrive there by chance… and you stay there by attachment. The walls have a memory, the garden a scent of freedom, and each of our rooms tells you a different story: ours, that of travelers, the passing seasons, and the mornings bathed in light. Nothing is perfect here but everything is true. The wood cracks, the birds sing, the wind makes the leaves dance, the deer roars in the heart of the night. The children laugh and people talk to each other, lulled by the crackling of the jukebox. We take the time to look, taste, feel, just be there. Breakfast is optional: homemade jams, crispy bread, local products, served with the discreet attention that makes all the difference. Restaurant At the heart of the house is also hidden the restaurant Au Bon Vieux Temps, a restaurant that is aptly named. Here, we don't just come to eat, we come to share, meet and enjoy the moment. The cuisine is simple, sincere and generous, inspired by local products and the Normandy seasons. Homemade dishes, carefully prepared, that warm the heart as much as the stomach. (only by reservation) Treat yourself to a suspended break in a place where you drop off your luggage, but also your thoughts, to leave lighter than when you arrived.
