Hopper House
Hopper House
Description
Hopper House is a very special home in Kommetjie – it was the original Benning House, built in 1922. Although the house has been recently renovated, it has kept all it’s charm and character and has all the original details from when the home was built by Anton Benning. The Benning’s obviously had their pick of position and it is safe to say that Hopper House is one of the best positions in Kommetjie, right on the beach yet just a 5 minute amble into the village. The space The home has lovely high ceilings a largely white interior with floor to ceiling white muslin curtains that give this beach house a wonderful feeling of space. The open-plan lounge and kitchen sprawl onto a large covered patio with unrivalled sea and mountain views that is protected from the South Easter. The large grass lawn leads to the 8.5m X 4m swimming pool overlooking the water’s edge. Once you settle in at Hopper House, you will never want to leave and will certainly struggle to find another home that compares. I love the beautiful art on the walls, the beachy light fittings and the huge amount of character this home has. The sun loungers and large umbrellas on the front patio over-looking the sea and mountains and hearing the waves break from every part of the house as well as the immense feeling of space and sanctuary you get at Hopper House are highlights. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home.
