Walk to Saugerties Village from our renovated 1900 Classic Brickhouse. Experience the convenience of strolling into town for a coffee or picking up a last-minute ingredient to cook in our chef's kitchen. The house is perfect for families or friends with plenty of room to both gather and spread out and unwind. The Brickhouse is centrally located-Minutes to all of Catskills four-season recreation. 15 min to Woodstock, Village of Catskill/Kingston. 30 min to Hudson. Less than 2 Hrs from NYC. Enter off the driveway (parks 2 cars) through our sizeable sunroom, perfect for storing your skis, and kicking off your shoes, or doing morning yoga. Then walk into our TV room with a cozy couch and exercise bike (if you feel inclined to log into your Peloton account on vacation). Soak in our clawfoot tub with an antique brass shower fixture located through the brick hallway. Continue and enter into the airy dining room, the center of the open floor plan, that connects the sizeable and well-appointed gourmet kitchen with a Bosch 5 burner gas top, double oven, and marble countertops, and your very own coffee bar. French Doors open off the kitchen to the sizeable fenced-in backyard. The Front Parlor has exposed brick with two 8ft. windows allowing the natural light in. Upstairs to the left of the staircase is the twin bedroom with two single beds and exposed reclaimed beams behind a sliding barn door. Straight ahead is the guest bathroom, and to the right is the Primary Bedroom Suite with Brooklinen bedding, a dressing room, and an incredible en-suite bathroom-- with a large shower with a bench, a small soaking tub, and two vanities. The other side of the stairs is our third bedroom with exposed brick, a queen bed, and a desk. Completing the second floor is a laundry room with a large capacity washer and dryer. Our dog-friendly home is the perfect place to relax and unwind, located next to the Saugerties School of Ballet you will often hear classical music wafting through the early evening air. Guests have access to the entire house, front and back yards Quick to respond to messages, but no interaction necessary. Our property management company, WKND-R operated by our co-host Maggie, will take great care of you and Maggie lives nearby. Saugerties, NY is a great town with so many activities for all four seasons. Nearly every store/establishment in Saugerties village is noteworthy - from Inquiring Minds independant bookstore to the recently opened Latino’s Market that sells fresh empanadas and coffee in the morning. Saugerties village really has the best of everything. For a small village, we’ve got it all - restaurants, boutiques, handmade chocolates since 1929, artisanal coffee shops, hair salon, wine merchant, independent bookstore, ice cream parlor, and so on. Bring the kids to our small beach and playground in town. From here you can also rent kayaks from ipaddlenewyork.com. Winter: Ski/Snow Tubing Hunter Mountain 30 minutes Windham Mountain 40 minutes Plattekill Mountain 60 minutes Belleayre Mountain 50 minutes Spring/Summer/Fall: Esopus Creek Nature's Preserve (5 min drive) Kaaterskill Falls Huckleberry Point (30 min) North and South Lake State Park (summer months) Overlook Mountain Ashokan Rail Trail Saugerties Light House Opus 40 HITS horse show While taking the I-87 is probably the most direct way to get to the house, the drive into Saugerties from 9W is spectacular. You’ll catch a great view of Saugerties, the Catskills, and the red bridge over the Esopus. Although we are within walking distance of the Village you will need a car to explore. We always recommend all-wheel drive for Hudson Valley winters. -Although the house is a place for relaxation it is located in the Village so you will hear some street noise. -The gas fireplace is inoperable -The second-floor guest bathroom's steam shower door has been removed because it was not sealing properly. The shower can operate as a standard shower with the shower curtain. Please do not use the steam function. - We now have a wooden privacy front yard with a gate (not pictured)
