Crossing Retreat - Beautiful barn with pool table

Crossing Retreat is a timber clad modern barn which has been renovated to give guests a taste of the countryside with a quirky twist. The large bi-folding doors along one side of the Retreat allow guests to open up their living space to the outdoors, perfect for those warm evenings. In the cooler months it provides a great source of light, enabling guests to take in the surrounding fields which provide lovely views. The projector and pool table are super additions to keep you entertained. The space The Crossing Retreat is a timber clad modern barn which has been renovated to give guests a taste of the countryside with a quirky twist. It would ideally suit a couple or an individual who wants to enjoy the countryside whilst staying in modern accommodation that has a quirky twist. Alternatively it is ideal for anyone working in nearby Norwich or Norfolk who is need of private self contained accommodation. The retreat has a wide screen projector, cinema sound, WiFi, a PlayStation 4 and pool table. You can log in to all of your usual apps (Netflix, Spotify, Youtube etc) via the Google Chromecast and play DVDs using the PlayStation. Using the Google Chromecast also allows you to mirror your phone to the big screen. There are some DVDs for you to use as well as some board games and books. The well equipped kitchen contains an electric hob, toaster, convection microwave which has a grill and convection oven setting (there is also a panini toaster as well as a slow cooker) and a fridge. There isn't a freezer or conventional oven but the microwave can be used as an oven and we can help out if you need anything frozen. We provide salt, pepper, oil, sugar, breakfast tea, Earl grey tea, coffee, starter milk and some latte pods for the Nescafe Dolce Gousto coffee machine. There are uninterrupted views of the surrounding fields from the butler sink in the kitchen and courtyard garden. The large modern 'daybed' is a brilliant comfy couch during the day with big storage drawers underneath should you wish to unpack. By night it very easily pulls out into a King size bed with 2 pocket sprung mattresses. There are 4 pillows and a super king duvet to keep you snuggled up day or night!. There is also a large 3 seater modern style sofa providing a place to rest in between turns whilst playing pool. There is a bathroom with an old fashioned pull chain toilet, sink and a shower. We provide a hand towel and bath towel for each guest staying as well as a hand towel in the shower. There is also a small hairdryer, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner for you to use. The temperature in the Retreat can be maintained and adjusted using the thermostatically controlled electric heater. We find setting it to around 18 degrees gives a really comfortable temperature. The front of the retreat opens out into its own private courtyard garden via a 5 door bi-folding door. The garden contains a table and chairs, BBQ, lounge seating area and views of the surrounding fields. It has its own private driveway and parking space. We can provide one pack of instant lighter coals for you which is kept in the wooden storage container in the corner of the garden. In there you will also find the outside cushions for the seats. There are also BBQ utensils hanging up outside for you to use. There is a superb array of excellent pubs/ restaurants in the local area which we are more than happy to recommend. Miles of golden sandy beaches are just 15mins drive away so too is the beautify history city of Norwich. Tourist coastal towns of Cromer, Sheringham, Wells-next-the-Sea are all worth a visit so too are Norfolk's majestically beautiful National Trust and English Heritage buildings such as Blickling and Felbrigg.     Guest access Our guests have full access to the entire accommodation. The private driveway is for the sole use of their car and the self contained garden is fenced and private. Other things to note The nearest supermarket is just 2.8miles away in nearby Wroxham. It is called Roys. There you'll also find Fish and Chips, a Chinese takeaway, Pizza and Kebab takeaway, an Indian restaurant and take away as well as a Thai restaurant and take away. There is also a McDonalds, a convenience store, shops and pubs. We love the Wroxham hotel as you can sit on a lovely terrace right by the river. Wroxham also has a train station and it's a 15min ride to Norwich City Centre or a 25min ride to Cromer/ Sheringham which are both located on the coast. There are buses that run from Wroxham to Norwich. Coltishall is also only 3 miles away and also contains many take aways (fish and chips, Chinese and Indian). It also has some brilliant pubs serving food such as The Recruiting Sargent and The Rising Sun which has a beautiful location right on the river. There are also buses that run from Coltishall to Norwich. Coltishall also has a fantastic butcher, found on the High street. The nearest Tesco is 5.5miles or Tesco express is 8.5miles. Sainsburys is 6.5miles away whereas Waitrose is 5miles. Crossing Retreat is situated rurally in a small village called Tunstead. It is 1 mile from the village pub, the Horse and Groom. It is always good to check the opening hours of the pub as it often changes depending on the time of year. There isn't a shop in the village but there are lots of shops nearby and take aways can be delivered. It has very good WiFi and amazing views of the interrupted landscape of North Norfolk. There are no neighbours, just wonderful fields to gaze at. We live in the house at the end of the garden and are on hand if you need anything. Smoking is permitted in the garden and there is a sand bucket provided to extinguish any cigarettes. Up to 4 pre arranged visitors are allowed up to 10.30pm and we ask that they leave the surrounding areas quietly and on time. No pets or children are allowed at anytime. Thank you.
