This residence stands in the heart of the medieval village. As you cross the threshold, the scent of aged wood and original stone walls evoke the stories of brigands who once roamed the valley, while modern comforts—from Wi-Fi to a smart TV—turn your stay into a timeless wellness experience. Every space is thoughtfully designed to combine authenticity and functionality, offering an intimate retreat where you can unwind after a day of trails, wineries, and authentic experiences. The space Crossing the threshold of the Rifugio dei Briganti means entering a stone-and-wood hideaway once steeped in clandestine passages and Bourbon legends. Spread over two levels, the house accommodates up to five guests: the Brigante Chiavone Room, a double with air conditioning, overlooks the narrow alleys; the more intimate Brigantessa Cedrone Room offers a single bed beneath vaulted stone ceilings and a dedicated fan. In the air-conditioned living room, a double sofa bed transforms into a cozy lounge for films and chess matches. The kitchen, once a stable, features an induction hob, microwave/grill, refrigerator, and capsule coffee machine, while the walk-in shower clad in limestone brings the day’s trekking to a relaxing close. Guest access The entire property is reserved for your exclusive use. You will receive a digital code 48 hours before arrival to open the gate, and you can manage check-in and check-out independently at any time. Inside you will find a collection of hiking maps, briefs on sites linked to local brigandage, and gastronomic recommendations curated by local guides. Other things to note The refuge is reached via a short walk over medieval paving stones: please note that the path and the internal wooden staircase are not suitable for wheelchairs or guests with reduced mobility. The main bedroom and living room are air-conditioned, while the single room is equipped with a fan; during winter, a heat pump system ensures consistent warmth. Smoking, candles, or open flames are not allowed inside the house; violations will incur a cleaning fee starting from €250.
