Cottage A has a King BR, full bath, laundry room, and living room with pull out bed to accommodate up to 4 people. Located in downtown Lincolnton within walking distance to new breweries and restaurants. Enjoy walking the Rail Trail or shopping at unique gift and antique shops. This is an excellent place to stay during the Apple Festival or Alive After 5. The Cottages are also only 25 minutes from Denver and Lake Norman, 30 minutes from Hickory and 42 minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Each has a full kitchen with new appliances and all basic kitchen tools. Cottage A has a comfortable King size bed, newly updated full bath, and laundry room. Cottage A will accommodate up to 4 people with a full pull out bed in the living room. We offer free wifi and a limited amount of complimentary Keurig coffee. Televisions are located in the living room and bedroom with firestick TV. Please note that you must have your own Amazon account to use the firestick and access live streaming services. A limited amount (enough for 2-3 days) of toiletries, toilet paper, and paper towels are supplied. About the house and hosts. We purchased this house in 2020 and renovated the entire space as a family. We love Lincolnton, NC and are very excited to provide a clean and comfortable space for visitors. Please let us know if you need anything during your stay. Doors/Keys/Garage Door Front Door Keyless Entry: The front door works on a code which I have provided to you in your welcome email. To unlock: press the top button (HuTools) then enter the code. The keypad will blink green and the door with unlock. To lock from the inside, just turn the lock bolt. To lock from the outside, hold the the top button (HuTools). The key pad will blink red and will lock. If there is a malfunction, the pad will blink red and green and will not lock. If this occurs, open the door, turn the bolt so that the lock is in the unlocked position and try again. Keys for the back doors are not provided. Please be sure that the back doors are locked before you leave. We will not be on the property but are always available to answer any questions you may have. Downtown! Walking distance to all that downtown Lincolnton has to offer Cottages on Carter is within walking distance of all downtown Lincolnton attractions. Check out the Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail, 1.6 miles long, that extends though the center of downtown. If you do not feel like walking, call a Goober Ridez, our local golf cart transportation. House Manual: Rules and Helpful Information Parking: There is parking for one vehicle per cottage. If you have more than one vehicle, please contact me for information regarding free parking in town. Please be respectful of the neighbors and do not park in their grass or in front of their driveway. Events or parties with guests who are not staying at the house with this booking must be approved in advance. First Aid/Safety: A basic first aid kit is located under the bathroom sink. A fire extinguisher is located under the kitchen sink. Neighborhood: Some neighbors do have dogs, but there is a strict leash law in downtown Lincolnton. Pets: No Pets. $200 fee per night for violations Supplies: A limited amount of dishwasher and washing machine detergent are supplied and can be found under the kitchen sink or in the laundry room. There are also extra batteries in the laundry room on the top shelf. Fabric steamer and bedside fan are located in the armoire in the bedroom. There is a small locked closet which contains supplies for the maid. ** Salt and pepper are supplied but no other cooking spices or foods are supplied** Smoking: No Smoking Fireplace: The fireplace is not for burning wood. There is an electric heater/light in the fireplace. The remote controller is located on the coffee table in the living room. You can activate the light and heating unit separately with this remote. Trash: Trash cans are located at the side of each cottage. Weekly trash collection services are on Tuesday mornings. Recycling: There is a recycling bin located at the side of cottage B for your use. Check-Out Procedures Please remove used sheets and pillowcases and place on the floor at the foot of the bed. The quilts, blankets, and pillow shams remain on the bed. Place used towels, washcloths, hand towels, kitchen towels in the bathtub. Bag all trash and place in outside bins. No loose trash is allowed in the garbage can. Check that any doors and windows you used are closed and locked. Check that all light switches are turned to the off position. Adjust thermostat to 72 degrees on cool. (see below for instructions) Be sure to deactivate any firestick from your amazon account (see below for instructions.) Check for your belongings! Depart through the front door. Lock by holding the top button (HuTools) in until it flashes red (see below for troubleshooting the keypad instructions) Safe travels! Thank you for choosing to stay at Cottages on Carter! Heating and Air: We have an energy-efficient mini split system in each cottage. The thermostat for the unit is the remote, which is located on a hanger by the kitchen light switch. To change the settings, point the remote towards the unit (located on the wall in the dining room) and push the controllers. To change from heating to cooling, press mode. A diagram of the modes can be found on the remote. The arrow at the top of the remote screen will change as you change the mode. Please give the unit time to respond after changing the temperature or mode and be sure to point the remote at the unit when making adjustments. Always leave the remote on its hanger so that the unit responds appropriately to the thermostat. WiFI: Free WiFi is included. You will receive the log on password in your welcome email or it can be found in the Welcome Book, located in the living room. TV: NO CABLE OR SATELLITE TV. There are TVs in the bedroom and living room. They operate only with a FIRESTICK ONLY. You must have an Amazon account to use the firestick. Turn on the TV with the TV remote, then use the firestick remote for further operation. The firestick should already by connected to WiFi, but if not follow the prompts. You will then follow prompts to log onto your amazon account. Be sure to deactivate the firestick before you leave. To deactivate: Go to settings, select account, select deregister.
