Cozy, Private Garden Apt in Derwood-La Belle Vie

Spacious one bedroom basement apartment. Private entrance, full bathroom and kitchenette all newly done. Freshly landscaped slate patio with garden and pond. The sound of running water provides a relaxing environment. Secluded back yard backs up to beautiful woods. 5 min away from bike trails. Large, open living space with sectional couch, and attached eating area with a table that can double as a work station. Centrally located in Montgomery County-approx 40 minutes from DC/Baltimore/Frederick. The space Welcome to La Belle Vie, a secluded haven near the major hubs of Rockville, DC and Baltimore. The homey apartment offers everything you would want for either a weekend escape or a long-term stay. We have provided all you need to prepare your own meals including an air fryer and toaster oven, but if that's not your preference, there are numerous restaurants nearby to either enjoy in person or have delivered. There is a new high-speed Linksys wi-fi system to meet your business needs. We (Tracy and John) live upstairs on the property. Crystal is co-host and manager. You may see both Tracy and Crystal's name when you correspond with us. There is a lovely backyard with a patio that has several seating areas where you can enjoy sipping a cup of coffee in the morning, reading a book in the afternoon, having a cocktail while watching the sunset, or stargazing at night. We back up to an Agricultural reserve wooded area and there is abundant wildlife to spot, including nesting hawks, bluebirds and pileated woodpeckers. A small pond and waterfall adds to the tranquility of the backyard. We have a neighborhood fox 🦊 named Luigi who you will see in the backyard sometimes. He likes to sleep on the patio. He will run from you but you can enjoy viewing him from your windows in the morning if he’s around. We often puppy sit Lily, our son’s golden doodle. She is extremely friendly and can be a bit jumpy when she says hello. We have an electric fence so she has free run of the yard. Please don’t call her to you in the driveway as she will get shocked if she passes past a certain point. She is only outside when we are home. The bedroom has a luxurious king-sized bed fitted with ultra soft sheets and a fluffy down comforter in the winter and a light, cotton comforter in the warmer months. The large window offers abundant light, but also has blackout shades so you can slumber without distraction. There is a new Mitsubishi Mini Split that offers air conditioning in the summer. There are also ceiling and floor fans. The family room/dining area is decorated as a library where you are invited to pick a book to read, play a board game, do a puzzle or watch TV. We have a smart TV with a G00gle TV controller giving you access to most popular streaming apps. In addition, you may cast any app you have from your phone. WE DO NOT HAVE CABLE TV. The table pulls out to accommodate up to 4 guests or works well as a workstation. The apartment is suited for children aged 7 and above. Pets are not permitted. Smoking is not permitted. We have 2 MetroPass cards that you are welcome to borrow while you are staying with us. If you find that you accidentally take them home with you, just mail them back asap. There will be a $25 charge per card if they are not returned. There are many walking paths or bike riding trails just next to our home and we are only a 6 mile drive from the Shady Grove metro station (Red Line). We are near several shopping centers and numerous restaurants and only 5 miles from I-270. There are 5 microbreweries, 2 wineries and a Cidery within a 2-20 mile radius. La Belle Vie truly is a gem amidst the rolling hills and farmland of Montgomery County while only a short distance from the metropolitan hubbub of the DC/Baltimore/Rockville/Frederick area. We have a front door security camera (our personal entryway) and a front siding door camera that monitors the driveway. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire basement apartment as well as the outdoor patio and backyard (shared with owners). Other things to note If you are using the pullout bed in the living room, there are very specific set-up instructions that need to followed. They are in a green folder on top of the bookshelf. You are required to use the mattress pad and cover so that we can safely and thoroughly sanitize them for the next guest. You may not just sleep on the couch without putting the pad down. Thanks for your understanding. We will occasionally need to come down to the storage area or utility room, which is in the hallway of the apartment. We will text you before we come down so we will not interrupt you. For extra privacy, there is a pocket door that closes off the kitchen. There is also a curtain that can be drawn to close off the living room.
