I'm Dan (he/him), and my cats and I love hosting! I greatly enjoy meeting good, kind people from all over the world. I strive to ensure your trip is safe, successful, and fun! I charge only a small $50 cleaning fee. No other fees! LGBTQ+ ally! The space House Rule: cats are indoor-only!! You will have full access to the following: * PRIVATE bathroom (FYI: bathtub only works as a shower) * Living Room: Gas fireplace, 4k TV, Netflix, huge library of several hundred DVDs and Blu-rays. Please understand that my permit with the city does not allow my living room to be used as a third bedroom. Thank you for your understanding, but I will immediately cancel a reservation if you sleep in my living room. * Fully stocked Kitchen * Dining room with Piano * Laundry Room + supplies * Backyard/Deck * Gigabit internet + wifi * Quiet, friendly neighborhood, close to airport and downtown ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love my house! It was built in 1949, and I purchased it 10 years ago. It has been a great (ongoing) project for me, and I love sharing it with you. Plenty of natural light filters through the house, but it stays nice and cool most of the day in the summer. Windows in all rooms can be opened for fresh air, and when it gets really hot I have AC units for each room. I continue to improve and update the house, and try to do at least one 'major' project each winter. In the first few years, I refinished the hardwood floors, updated much of the electrical, repainted all rooms, many repairs and upgrades, etc. In 2017, I remodeled the second floor to become my living space. This enabled me to have the Airbnb downstairs, and allow us both some privacy when wanted. I do have to walk through the dining room to get to the kitchen/laundry, but seldom do while you are here. I also have to walk through those spaces to exit/enter the house until I can get my own exterior exit and stairs built. In early 2018, I replaced all the plumbing from the street through the house. Plenty of hot water and water pressure now! In late 2018 I purchased all new kitchen appliances. I love to cook, so you will find the kitchen is pretty well supplied. I've had Chefs as guests who loved cooking in it, which I took as a good compliment. In early 2019 I added a bathroom upstairs in my space, so you have your own private bathroom now. The back deck is shaded by a maple tree, while the yard itself gets lots of sun. There is plenty of parking, and almost no traffic. The neighborhood is quiet and mellow, with very nice neighbors. Guest access You will have access to the entire first floor of the house. I try to provide you with as much privacy as possible during your stay, but am available if you need me. I live in my apartment upstairs and seldom venture into your space. In addition to your rooms and private bathroom, the downstairs living room is all yours. You also have full access to the shared kitchen and laundry room, and I try to avoid those spaces while guests are staying with me. MAIN BEDROOM It is furnished with a comfortable queen bed and a large dresser. There are two closets for storage. A ceiling fan keeps you cool at night. SECOND BEDROOM While not as big as the main bedroom, it still has plenty of room. It comes with a queen bed and a medium dresser, and has a ceiling fan as well. PRIVATE BATHROOM Quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, plenty of towels. Iron, hair dryer, sewing kit, and more available. LIVING ROOM Snuggle up on the couch in front of the gas fireplace and watch a movie! The living room is 100% your space during your visit as I have my own space upstairs. Featuring a 55' 4k TV, you have access to a guest Netflix account and my large personal DVD movie library (I think it is close to 400 titles, but I haven't counted them in years). I also have multiple books on local hikes and adventures for you to peruse. PLEASE NOTE: my permit only allows guests to sleep in the two bedrooms. The living room is not an additional sleeping area, as I would be non-compliant with city regulations. Thank you for your understanding. KITCHEN The kitchen has everything you need. Gas range, refrigerator, dish washer, food processor, KitchenAid mixer, etc. Most basic staples supplied (flour, sugar, spices, etc). DINING ROOM The round oak dining table doubles as a work-space. The piano is tuned, so play all you want! LAUNDRY ROOM Front-load, low-water washing machine and high-efficiency dryer. Laundry baskets, detergent and dryer sheets provided. BACK YARD Relax on the back deck! Feel free to use either of the BBQs. I have both a Traeger Texas wood fired smoker/BBQ and a Char-Broil TRU-Infrared gas grill. The Traeger is fun to use. You can smoke a brisket for 15 hours if you want - very easily! During your stay All guests welcome! I love meeting new people, and I love my city.
