Traditional Greek villa with stunning sea view

Villa Thimari is located on the north-west side of Andros, the northernmost of the Cycladic islands, not far from Athens on the mainland. This recently-restored old stone farmhouse stands on the hillside where the village of Agios Petros nestles, only 6 km from the nearest beaches of Agios Petros. There are spectacular views of the port of Gavrio 5 km below and across the sea to the coastline of Attica, which you can enjoy from the magnificent terrace above the beautiful garden of the villa. The space Villa Thimari is in the higher part of the sprawling ancient village of Agios Petros, on the road that runs from the port of Gavrio to Vitali on the other side of the island. The villa takes its name from the wild thyme bushes with fragrant pink flowers, on the surrounding hillsides. In this upper part of the village, there are only residential houses. A supermarket and some other shops are at the bottom of the hill, closer to Gavrio. The road to Agios Petros leads to Villa Thimari, which has its own private parking space just beyond the church at the top of a short private road. From here, the property can be reached by walking downhill for about two minutes along a paved path, which ends in a series of steep steps that lead to a blue wooden gate through which you reach the garden and the main house. Please note that access is therefore not very easy for people with reduced mobility. The villa stands in a small green garden with fruit trees and is accessed via a terrace, which leads directly into the luminous living room. To the right is a spacious kitchen and dining space and on the other side of the house is the sleeping area with a study and 2 rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is well-equipped with high-quality tableware and everything necessary for organising parties. Professional catering services can be arranged with the host for receptions or events in the summertime. The master bedroom with a double bed has access to an additional terrace and a well-lit dressing room. The second room has a marvellous romantic view over the sea where you can see the moon reflected. The villa, consisting of an overall area of 155 m2, including the two terraces, can house 4. It is also possible to rent the small but cosy adjoining house (also listed on airbnb) on the lower floor, which has enough space for a couple with a child. Guest access The main area of the villa (155 m2) will be at the complete disposition of guests for the entire duration of their stay. If the guests of the villa also rent the adjoining smaller house the entire property (consisting of these two spaces) will be fully available to them. During the summer months the owner of the house may be staying in the adjoining smaller house and she will therefore be available for any help or information you may require. Other things to note The spacious terrace of the Villa has a large covered area with chairs and a table seating 8 people, where it is possible to relax, read, work on the computer or simply enjoy the magnificent panoramic view over the sea and the islands of Kea, Gyaros and Syros.
