Little Cabin on the River - A Waterfall Wonderland
Description
Nestled in the forested canyons of historic Glenn Creek, and in the heart of Oregon's old logging history, this completely remodeled fishing cabin is perfect for two guests. Warm and cozy in the winter, and sunny and bright in the summer. Located on the East Fork of the Millicoma River and three miles from Golden & Silver Falls State Park, enjoy the beauty of an Oregon coastal forest, and explore these two hidden waterfalls located in an old growth forest. Just 15 minutes from the cabin. The space Built in the early 60's as a fishing retreat, this little cabin is 50' from the East Fork of the Millicoma river. With a bright open fully-equipped kitchen, high speed WIFI access, laundry, fire pit and a gas fireplace, it makes winter or summer a perfect time to visit. The bedroom has a queen bed and new mattress, and all the blankets and comforters needed for a snug and restful sleep. Enjoy all the seasons, watching river birds, wild turkeys, otters, salmon, chipmunks, quail, deer and the occasional elk, who venture down to enjoy our orchard. Watch for Red Tailed Hawks, and a magnificent American Bald Eagle who surveys the river frequently most mornings. You may even see a bear or two enjoying the apples in our orchard, or our family of deer. Chinook salmon spawn in front of the cabin from November to January and steelhead fishing starts mid-December and runs through March. Trout season runs from May 26th through October 31st. During the months of July through late September, fill your basket with fresh blackberries or spend time picking many varieties of apples, plums, apricots, and pears in our orchard. We do have an on-demand generator, so power outages are never a problem. We also have Starlink for our WiFi server. Guest access With 80' of river frontage, and a view of the surrounding mountains and valley, enjoy this little cabin on it's own half acre, a private deck overlooking the river, fully fenced-in back yard, and a large open front yard. There is no swimming available at the cabin (due to it's natural spawning grounds, very shallow and rocky), but further upstream near Golden & Silver Falls there are several natural swimming holes. Chinook salmon spawn in front of the cabin from November to January. Other things to note It’s important for us to feel comfortable with your booking. Please compete your guest profile and let us know where you are coming from. It helps with providing good directions. Also, include your guests first name.
