This cottage offers an upgraded tiled shower, full (double) bed, cozy outside seating with gardens, amazing westerly sunsets and views of Wiscasset village. Westview is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or weeklong stay in Mid-coast Maine, the central location off Route 1 providing a year-round location for easy access to area attractions. Larger vehicles cannot be accommodated. This area of Mid-coast Maine provides ready access to seaside activities, cultural sites, dining and shopping. The iconic Red's Eats Lobster Shack is located just across the bridge from the cottage, and the village of Wiscasset offers a variety a dining establishments within a mile's walk or drive. Just a short walk down the road, Fort Edgecomb, a waterfront historic site, may be easily explored on foot. Farther afield, lighthouses, a maritime museum, art museums and other cultural sites are available for exploration. Visitors may also enjoy the many outdoor activities of the area, including beaches, whale watches, oyster cruises, hiking and kayaking. Shopping enthusiasts will find locally made pottery, gift shops and antique stores in nearby Damariscotta, while the flagship L.L. Bean store provides the centerpiece of a day-long shopping excursion to the Freeport Outlet Center. There is a parking spot directly adjacent to the Westview cottage. The entire space is reserved for Westview guests and is not shared with nearby cottages. The parking is suitable for one car or a small truck. Larger vehicles or campers cannot be accommodated. Window a/c units are installed around June 1st and removed around October 1st.
