A sweet mountain house in a beautiful mountain town with epic views and sunsets and convenient to everything. Enjoy our home as if it were your own with everything you need. Adjacent to Malibu, Topanga Canyon, & Calabasas. The convenience of the San Fernando Valley, the 101 freeway and groceries are minutes away as are myriad opportunities for adventure, hiking, beaches, world class food & shops. Drive to LA, Hollywood, Malibu, Venice and Santa Monica beaches The space During your stay at our home you will enjoy complete privacy and full access to all the house has to offer with no other guests but yourselves. This tranquil natural atmosphere provides an easily accessible sanctuary just outside the bustle of the city. Enjoy wonderful birdwatching, spectacular sunsets and breathtaking views. Nestled into the side of the mountain, JoyHouse8 offers a relaxed, casual retreat with the convenience of Calabasas and the valley below. Outside JoyHouse8 offers a large deck with views of the Santa Monica Mountains, Woodland Hills, San Fernando Valley and mountain ranges beyond, a very private side deck that nestles against the mountainside and extends the full length of the house, a tropical side yard garden and two separate patio areas above the canyon. Inside JoyHouse8 offers: -A large master bedroom with attached full bathroom with double sinks and a separate shower and soaking tub that looks out on the private side deck and mountainside, trees and sky. -A cozy guest room with queen mattress, attached full bath, and television with HBO, Showtime and DirectTV. -The large great room has spectacular views leading out to the large view deck and includes an open plan kitchen, large dining table, and living room with a large television with full cable, including Showtime and HBO, -A separate office/treatment room with massage table and attached 3/4 bath (listed as half bath but it has a shower), located just off the kitchen and great room. We use all cotton sheets and bedding for your ultimate comfort. The house has space for medium size cars under a carport. There is space in the area to park more cars over night but not long term. NOTE: I'm not sure how or why we are in the Lakeside category, we are nowhere near a lake, though we are up the road (20-30 minutes depending on traffic) from the ocean/beach. I've tried to remove us from that category but cannot figure out how to do it. Guest access You will enjoy full access to the whole house, both decks, yard and canyon patios. Please be respectful and quiet as this is a very tight, friendly, family oriented community. And drive slowly inside the park as there are many small children, neighbors, pets and wildlife roaming the streets of our little community. Other things to note We designed JoyHouse8 from the ground up as a healing arts space, creative journaling studio, and gallery for my own paintings, clothing, jewelry and other artworks. It is our home and sanctuary as well as art studio and gallery. We find it deeply nurturing, grounding and healing and are pleased to be able to share it with others for their own relaxing retreats.
