Peaceful cabin amidst 40 wooded acres
With brand-new bamboo flooring, brand new kitchen cabinets and electric fridge, freshly painted walls and many other improvements, this home is once again ready for guests! Water comes from a private well. Clean energy is provided from solar panels and batteries with a back-up generator. The property includes a woodshed, two farm ponds, scenic trails, and space for gardening and hunting. Long term stays and pets welcome! One bedroom, one bathroom, with an extra office space. The kitchen and living room feature a modern open floor plan and there is an enclosed and insulated porch with beautiful views. Note, the office is a separate room but does not have a door. This is a house for practical people, for example you will have to keep an eye on the battery levels and run the generator as needed. You will also need to keep the wood stove lit to provide heat through out the house. We also have a snow blower on hand that guests can use to keep the immediate drive area clear in winter. All areas except garage. There is contactless check in and check out, but please message, call or text me if you need anything! Forest with private camps. No visible neighbors except for wildlife. Bangor is close by, as is Orono and Old Town, if you want to go to a restaurant or visit the Stephen King House. There are plenty of areas to enjoy more nature, from Bangor City Forest to Pushaw Lake. An hour and 20 minutes drive gets you to the famed Acadia National Park. Bangor international Airport is a 25 minute drive away. A car is needed for this stay, since there is no bus system in Kenduskeag. Trott Drive is a dirt road with some bumps and potholes but is maintained year round and accessible with all types of vehicles. This is a "camp", or cabin. It is quirky and definitely not perfect, but very peaceful and functional.
