The Owl House Landers - Relaxing Desert Escape

If you’re looking for time out in the middle of nowhere, but still close to somewhere - The Owl House Landers is your spot. A reimagined modern desert farmhouse, The Owl House is a fantastic relaxation retreat, and escape from the city. Just 20 minutes from Joshua Tree, The Owl House has easy access to the national park and downtown Joshua Tree, Flamingo Heights, Pioneer Town, Giant Rock, the Integratron, and fantastic local hikes, OHV trails, and local eateries. The space Fully-equipped kitchen and BBQ, with indoor and outdoor dining areas, fire pit, and cowboy pool* ensure that you can just stay put and enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets, starlit skies, and hang with the owls when they’re around. The Owl House Landers was remodeled over a six-month period by owners and artists Chelsea Uniqorn and Karma. Many of the pieces inside and outside the house are their work. The name comes from the Owls, Sheila and Lionel, who lived on the property, and tips its hat to the famed Owl House (Nieu Bethesda), in Karma’s native South Africa. * Heating the pool is seasonal and requires an additional payment. - it’s generally used as a cold plunge Dec thru Feb. If you would like to have it heated let me know 24 hours before your stay. It’s not a hot tub so will only heat to around 15 degrees higher than the outside temp. The owl house is on social. Come find us: @theowlhouse_landers Guest access Like most Airbnbs in the desert, to access the Owl House you’ll need to travel down a dirt road. You don't need a 4x4 to do this. Small cars are fine. But it’s still sand and can be daunting if you’re only used to paved roads. There are no street lights in the desert. We do leave a light on for our guests who are arriving at night.
