Creekside Cabins -Lumberjack Shack - Semi Rustic

At Creekside Cabins you will have a luxury "glamping" experience on our private 37 acres. Our Amish built Cabins are nestled over 200 ft above Pine Creek with soothing sounds of the creek flowing from your 4x12 covered porch. We are unlike any typical campground as its limited to 2 rentals so you can enjoy a peaceful, more private experience. Additional accommodations can be made if your party exceeds guest sleeping areas (tent spaces). There is also an additional cabin for multiple parties. The space **WINTER MONTHS ** A 4 hr window is required to get the electric fireplace fired up so cabin is warm upon arrival** The Lumberjack Shack - NO RUNNING WATER INSIDE CABIN- SHARED FULL BATH HOUSE AVAILABLE ON SITE PROPERTY INFO- Located in Wellston near Tippy Dam, Big Manistee River Access Sites, 20 minutes from Lake Michigan Beaches and downtown Manistee plus Little River Casino. We have 2 Amish Built Cabins located in the heart of Manistee National Forest overlooking Pine Creek. We have lots of Brook Trout that are caught in our creek and get the Salmon in late Sept early Oct as they come to spawn and Steelhead in select times of year as well. Please note, small creeks have different fishing dates than the larger rivers. Opens 4/30 and closes Sept 30th. We are surrounded by private property and not your typical campground. We give you access to a good portion of our creek side and the cabins are set 200ft above the creek side. You can access the Creekside below the bank, go into the creek, but don't access the bank on the opposite side as that is privately owned. We also border State Hunting Land and close to ORV and Snowmobile riding trails. We welcome those who like to hunt and want to walk over to hunting land or ride from our property to the trails. HIKING-The North Country Trail is accessible on both sides of our driveway just in from the mailbox. North will take you towards the river and south goes back to M55 takes you into the Big M trail. The NCT passes through 8 states from Vermont to North Dakota and right through our little piece of property! WHAT TO BRING...coffee & filters, extra camp chairs (we have 2 there for you and 2 porch chairs). You will also need your own charcoal if you plan to use the grill. Muck boots are great to walk in the creek as it shallow and you will often see fish in the creek. We keep a jug of water (5 gallons) on the porch as well for cleaning hands, Extra water does not hurt to have on hand. There is a TV/DVD player in the cabin, no cable, bring your own DVDs. Bedding is provided. There is an electric skillet and some basic utensils for indoor and outdoor cooking. The cabins are plugged into electric camp posts and have ceiling fan, microwave, mini fridge, all basic utensils for cooking and grilling, coffee pot. We have a full shower house available and flushable toilet/vanity room accessible to our campers which is a short walk from your cabins. We are still in the process of adding signage/directions/pathways to access so information will be sent with check in details as this improvement was just added late Sept 2022. Please bring your own towels and wash cloths. We do provide Good Quality Shampoo, Conditioner, Gentle shower gel and hand soap in the shared bath house. SELF CHECK IN-CHECK OUT-Check in is at 3:00 – Check Out is 11:00. Please ask day prior to, early check in may be avail and we are always happy to offer if cabin is not occupied day prior. Cabin has 1 Queen & 2 twins (one is a trundle roll out under the day bed). When you check out, please put used bed linens on the floor so we can conserve water/energy if you did not use some beds. There is no daily housekeeping. The porta Jon is directly across the driveway from your cabin and stocked with TP and serviced weekly on Tuesdays. We do check it daily, sanitize and deodorize it/wipe it down. If you need ideas for places to go, please ask. We are near the casino, lots of beautiful hiking trails, river accesses, great restaurants and Lake Michigan. FIREWOOD-We have hefty hardwood bundles on site for sale. Further instructions will be sent upon reservations on how to have wood delivered prior to arrival or self serve as needed. OTHER SERVICES - KAYAK/TUBE/PONTOON RENTALS- Limited availability, first come, first serve basis call ahead to inquire. 10+ kayaks, 6+ tubes, 1 Pontoon seats 9, Bluetooth Stereo, Bimini Top, Fish Finder-2016 Berkshire with mesh Flooring. This is newer model, super easy to steer/drive. $100 half day 5 hrs 10 am - 3 pm or 3:30-8:30 $200 full day 10 am - 8 pm. $1200 weekly rental. Deposit required. Boat will leave with a full tank of gas, when it is returned, deposit will be used to fill tank and remainder of deposit will be refunded. This pontoon has a 4 stroke Mercury outboard and does not go thru a lot of gas unless you are cruising at high speeds continuously. We reserve the right to retain deposit for any damage. No grills or fireworks allowed on boat. Driver must have boaters safety certificate. Willing to take to different bodies of water within reasonable distance of our property. Kayaks 1 Day $30; 2 days $50; 3 days $70 1 tandem kayak avail for $10 additional on above price River tubes available-mesh inside seat, headrest and drink holders $15/day Vehicle Spot service is available for river trips for kayakers and tubers with advance notice for $25 Creekside Cabins Guest access We do give our guests quiet a bit of access to our privately owned property. If you stay along the powerlines that run from your cabin to the roadside and back to the backside of the property, you will see where they cross the creek with a newer set of powerlines and have an access trail going down to the creek. We do ask that you stay on our side of the creek in between the bigger new powerlines at the back side of the property going across the creek and the bridge. This will be very obvious if you take a walk. Maps are still a work in progress to add in the cabins. Other things to note We do have a german shepherd and english mastiff on site. We keep our dogs contained inside & walk them or take them outdoors behind our house on our own trails when we have guests. Our dogs are very well behaved. The shepherd, Bella, will only want to know who is going to throw the stick but she will most likely never to come to anyone by herself as she is shy, unless you call her. The Mastiff is social, she is a gentle giant, appears large and has a loud bark. She does not jump and may look intimidating running toward someone, but no fear as she is just looking for someone to pet her and give her love and attention. She will sit on your feet and beg you with a paw to pet her continuously. They don't usually come to visit unless you ask or if they happen to get out. Please do not fear them, they are friendly and nice to other animals. Emma, the mastiff might bounce around in a playful prance around another dog. She is still a puppy but very smart. If you yell and tell her to go away, she will be fearful and leave sadly. Big dog with no big dog skill!
