Each of the 3 generously large bedrooms with en suite private baths welcome you to the character and hospitality of Taos. The stocked kitchen and adjoining cheerful dining area are comfortable for gatherings and conversation. Please note that our beautiful fireplaces are Not functional. The space A rare find, the Historic La Posada de Taos is an Authentic Taos Experience. Located in the Taos Historic District, you'll be just a short stroll to the Plaza, the historic center that host many of the towns' events. Fiestas, music, art fairs, parades, farmers markets to name a few. Many of the museums are within a 2 block distance, the Harwood, Bluemenschien, Kit Carson House. You'll find some of the best restaurants in this part of the country close by as well as art galleries and antiques along with many other interesting shops. The John Dunn Shops offer everything from rock collections to hand crafted chocolate (that you can watch them make) to textiles and fabrics from around the world and much more. There are two brew houses in the area. Live entertainment in the Bars, Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO world heritage site is just minutes away by car. Continual inhabited for the last 900 years by the Taos Pueblo Natives. A tour to visit to the incredibly beautiful Village is a must. La Posada de Taos is located at the end of a very quiet private street. It's the perfect spot for family gatherings or just a couples get a way. The home encapsulates all the charm and warmth that makes Taos unique. The adobe bricks used to build the home were made from the earth where the home sits now. The ceilings are adorned with Vigas that are traditional to this part of the world hardwood floors and Navajo rugs and Persian carpets. The bedrooms are large yet cozy each with a sitting area and large private bathrooms. Each bedroom opens to its very own private courtyard. Lots of places to sit quietly alone or gather with others in the large garden that opens off the dining room. gather around the fire pit in the large and lush courtyard. The very spacious dining room can acomodate 18 or the table and chairs can be removed to host possibly a yoga retreat or other types of retreats. There's a very special sun room that opens up to yet another garden, a lovely place to enjoy your coffee inside or out. There is access to other acommodations on the property if you'd like to host a larger group. The home was built for the daughther of Bert Geer Phillips in the 1920'2. A founding Artist of the renowned Taos Art Colony, PHillips first encountered Taos in 1898 while traveling with Ernest Blumenschein (another Taos founding Artist) from Denver to Mexico, Unfortunately, or fortunately their wagon broke down 20 miles north of Taos. Phillips decided to stay Blumenschein returned to New York and returned to later the colony was farmed in 1914. Guest access You have a 3 bedroom home all to yourself. A fully stocked kitchen with utensils, pots, pans etc., a breakfast nook with seating for four, a sun room, a large dining area that seats 14 and, of course, a living area with full bookshelves and plenty of area and seating to just relax, read, have conversation or enjoy the unique fine artwork There are three spacious bedrooms with private baths and also a half bath/powder room next to the front door. Each bedroom has a private exterior courtyard with table and chairs and umbrella. There is a large, lush outdoor courtyard on either side of the home that is shared with other guests. Parking spaces in the shared lot. Other things to note Our beautiful fireplaces are not functional. We are not allowed to use them.
