Description
At the foot of a beautiful castle that belonged to La Fayette, on an island drawn by the arms of the Indrois, the mill of La Follaine welcomes you to its gîte "le logis du meunier" for a refreshing stopover in a haven of tranquility. Set in a 15th century outbuilding, Le Logis du Meunier is located on the property of the Mill and has its own private garden surrounded by the two branches of the river feeding the mill. The space Comfortably equipped and nicely decorated, it consists of an entrance with toilet and closet giving access on the one hand to the kitchen and on the other to the living room equipped with a functional fireplace; both rooms open onto the terrace. Upstairs the landing serves a bathroom with spa shower and toilet located between two bedrooms, one equipped with three 90 cm beds (which can be arranged as 2 + 1), the other with a 160 cm double bed and a 90 cm bed. The cottage is equipped with central heating (ecological wood pellet boiler). A surcharge of €50 will be due upon arrival from October to May if needed. Guest access The miller's house and its enclosed private garden are entirely dedicated to vacationers who thus have complete autonomy, tranquility and privacy. Access is via the main entrance of the property, the owners' mill and the vacation rental facing each other without direct view however. The gite has its own access. The layout of the river branches surrounding the mill draws an "aquatic" park of 2 ha to which the tenants of the gîte have free access, subject to the respect of the tranquility of the premises and the supervision of children under the sole responsibility of the parents. Other things to note Curious or interested travelers will enjoy the operation of the wheel and gear systems that still operate a flour mill. The owner is passionate about mills and is always ready to share his pleasure in owning and maintaining this small piece of our industrial and cultural heritage.
