Harlech: clifftop house in Snowdonia

Glorious views from a beautiful 1907 Arts & Crafts house 260 feet above the sea in Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri, formerly the Snowdonia National Park. Sleeps seven. Bookings run from 16:00 Sunday to 10:00 the following Sunday. Week only bookings. The detached house is set in over an acre of drystone-walled grounds. One area is gated and safeish for unadventurous dogs who don't jump over walls, unlike ours. Spectacular sea views from every room except the pantry and the downstairs shower. The space Murmur-y-Don sleeps seven, in three double bedrooms and one single bedroom. All bedrooms have a washhandbasin and sea views. The house is 2000 sq. ft, 186m2. There is a bathroom upstairs, with the huge original 1907 cast-iron bath, and a shower room downstairs with a modern Aqualisa rainwater shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a Firebird (like an Aga but smarter), an electric oven, a microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, toaster, Dolce Gusto espresso machine and a walk-in larder. There is free fibre-optic wi-fi broadband. Because the walls of the house are three feet thick, its range is limited — it won’t work in the kitchen, for example. The solid oak-floored drawing room is L-shaped and has an HD TV with a DVD player. Off the drawing room is the Round Window, a circular room to take advantage of the spectacular views. It has 108 panes of glass, each one hand curved so the horizon isn’t refracted. Think of a pencil in a glass of water. Guest access The house and grounds, with just over an acre of drystone-walled lawns and trees, is at the sole disposal of our guests. Bookings run from 16:00 Sunday to 10:00 the following Sunday.
