The Mailbox House - magical getaway in nature

This charming little house is a unique one of kind architectural gem. Perched atop a hill, full of light, with magnificent nature views, it is only minutes from both Sugarbush ski area and Mad River Glen ski area. It is a perfect getaway for an artist or writer retreat, where one can truly get away from it all. Couples can enjoy a romantic getaway. Great mountain biking & hiking trails nearby. In the summer, there's hiking, swimming and kayaking all nearby. The space The house feels like a magical fairy house, with the queen bed in the main bedroom tucked into a sleeping nook, looking out big windows onto gardens. The loft bed is perfect for a child or small adult. There is a lovely newly-painted kitchen that is fully stocked, with a dining room table and small couch & comfy chair adjacent for hanging out. Upstairs there is a very cool study with a dome clear roof, that also looks out onto the gardens. There's also a big back deck looking over gardens, which is a great place to catch a sunset. There's a fire pit in the backyard, with lots of chairs to sit around. There are trails all around the house, with phenomenal views looking out onto the mountains. There is a kayak that guests can use on Blueberry Lake, which is 5 minutes away. Guest access A car is necessary to get around, in the winter you will absolutely need 4WD or AWD, and snow tires are a must to get up the hill. There is parking in the driveway. Other things to note This is a unique and funky house, with unconventional stairs of different heights. We highly suggest keeping on a night light, and checking everything out ahead of time in the daylight. Not recommended for anyone wary of navigating funky stairs. We ask all guests to sign a waiver acknowledging the eccentric nature of the stairs.
