Description
This classic Maine farmhouse converted a post-and-beam barn structure for the one-of-a-kind kitchen, is such a super-clean and cozy home for your mid-coast Maine vacation. New quiet AC/heat pump in ALL rooms! Freshly painted inside. New furniture, mattresses, linens. Two full bathrooms have been completely renovated. You're in the Village of Camden, ten minute walk to the heart of town and harbor. Shops, restaurants, amazing walks, all await you as Camden is known as the Jewel of Maine's coast. The space Incredible natural light bathes every room, giving multiple places to curl up with a book, play games, or simply relax after your days of adventure. The enclosed back porch is a sublime spot to breathe in coastal air. The semi-covered deck overlooks a private backyard with outdoor firepit. The reading room has a wonderful Vermont Castings woodstove, so comforting on a chilly night! The hand-made farmhouse table sits adjacent to the ample kitchen with a vintage Monson-Burmah slate sink. Use the fully-stocked kitchen to prepare meals at your pleasure (just bring your spices and food!). Or use the new gas BBQ outside with Adirondack chairs ready for outdoor lounging. Washer and drier are on the bedroom level, very convenient. Air conditioning and heat with ductless heat pump system keeps the home comfortable. 58” TV is ready for your streaming services, super fast Wi-Fi if you need to Zoom or binge-watch. If you need to get some remote-work done, we have two dedicated work desks; one with a large monitor is in the fireplace room. Another desk and chair is upstairs in the primary bedroom. This home has high ceilings, unusual for homes this age. You'll find 9'-0" ceilings in the first floor living areas in the original home, kitchen is closer to 8' with the barn beams, and the ceilings are 8'-0" upstairs in the bedrooms (except where sloped at the very outer edge - see pictures). We have been AirBNB'ing for several years in our family, and we've done our best to provide a clean, welcoming and relaxing venue for your vacation. It's exactly the type of home we would want to rent. Guest access The entire home is available, except the attic space is not for guest's use. Other things to note The stairs in homes of this era are slightly steep, but we recently upgraded the railing to proper height. For a 1920 house, it’s in great shape, but has the “character” original wood floors one would expect. The home is truly one of a kind, very inviting and comfortable.
