Overlooking the breeding grounds of the Antarctic and Alaskan whales there is no better place to experience the gifts of nature. With 5 star furnishings throughout, you can cozy up on great furniture, just in time to hear the jungle symphony of squawking toucans that live near by. The house is at a high elevation which means, no pesky bugs, light cool breezes (yes you may need a sweater) but you can still sleep to the crashing of waves below. The kitchen will impress any gourmet cook with all you need to prepare the perfect meal. If you do not want to cook, our local chefs can have tasty meals waiting for you. Your choice of world class wines and liquors can be ready on the kitchen island ready to pour and enjoy on the patio your first day here. The home has 2 large master suites and a mini master, all with en suite bathrooms. Two baths have outdoor bathtubs and gorgeous all glass showers. There is an extra smaller room with a 1/2 bath that could be for a nanny or maid. Although located in a temperate elevation, all rooms have air conditioning. All bedding is organic, no pesticides have been used on the property, structured water and all cleaning supplies are organic. We supply organic shampoos, body washes and other amenities for health bathing. The heated salt swimming pool takes the slight chill off in the evenings and an outdoor kitchen is perfect for a poolside evening BBQ. If you are coming to work, everything is ready with a computer monitor, fiber optic high speed internet, solar energy to guarantee a back up in the case of energy outages and abundant wifi throughout the property. Organic fruits and vegetables, when available from our permaculture garden, are often left at your front door and you are always invited to visit the newly completed black bamboo greenhouse that is always bustling with seedlings. Maybe the stingless bee hives on the property will have honey ready for your breakfast or for sweetening your tropical smoothie. Just when you think you have had the perfect day, evening comes and the show begins. Probably the most spectacular sunsets you have ever experienced are here, each one unique and breathtaking. Wildlife wonders never disappoint at Casa Citrina, parrots are guaranteed for happy hour and monkeys often stop by. Bird watching takes on a whole new meaning and walks through the neighborhood are never without something new to discover. Located at the top of a ridge, you can take an easy morning walk on two miles of road without extreme hills. Casa Citrina is approximately a three - four hour drive depending on traffic from the San Jose International Airport. You can rent a car there or take a shuttle to the house or a local car rental. There are also two domestic airlines (Sansa or Costa Rica Green Air) that you can take you to Quepos airport which is an easy transfer at the San Jose airport and a 40 min ride to the house. The rental price includes one time maid service if staying for over 7 nights. Casa Citrina is located in the Costa Verde Estates neighborhood, the most prestigious address in the area. Tennis courts can be arranged. This is the perfect launching pad for visiting the beaches. It is a 20 minute drive from the coastal highway to the property. All guests are required to have a 4x4 vehicle. From the house you can see the gushing Diamante waterfall, Costa Rica's largest. A ride through the back roads will take you to the famous Nauyaca falls. You are also next door to an abundance of organic farms and permaculture. Farmers markets offer a healthy experience and lots of fun while seeking out exotic fruits and vegetables. Nearby gastronomy abounds and one of the most favorite local hang outs is only a ten minute drive with a great chef and one of the best bartenders around. A local market is also handy with gourmet goodies and a great selection of fine wines. Many other great restaurants are not too far away.
