Looking for a stopover for some Nessie spotting in the Scottish Highlands? Our Hideaway Pod in Drumnadrochit village is the perfect base. The village is home to the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre and Urquhart Castle, located half way along the popular western edge of Loch Ness. Only 12 miles from Inverness and en route to the Isle of Skye, it is a popular, convenient stopover, with a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, and petrol station. The space Our Hideaway Pod is located on the historic Lewiston Road in Drumnadrochit, just a 10-15 minute walk from the village centre. Close to Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, and local amenities like pubs, cafes, supermarkets, restaurants, petrol stations, and bus stops, it serves as an ideal base for both short and long visits. Nature enthusiasts will find various hiking trails right at the doorstep, including Great Glen Way, Balmacaan Woods, Glen Affric, and Divach Falls. The pod is nestled in a secluded and tranquil area at the bottom of our cottage garden, with its own south-facing garden. Built with high-quality materials, it ensures maximum comfort, even during the coldest Highland spells. We’ve decorated the Pod to provide a hideaway retreat for those seeking an escape from busy modern life. Inside the Pod: • Small kitchenette with all essential cooking items • Ensuite shower and toilet room • Comfortable memory foam double bed • Fast Wi-Fi (no TV) Outside the Pod: • Generous secluded garden area • Small south-facing patio with chairs and table. Perfect for two people, the pod offers a cozy and comfortable stay, maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. We live on-site, and can provide guests with local travel tips and assistance. We recommend a 1-2 night stay for a brief visit to Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle ruins. For a more immersive and relaxing experience, we recommend a 3-5 night stay, allowing you to fully explore the stunning Highlands. Locally, you can drive around Loch Ness and take various well-maintained and signposted local hikes to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, lochs, ancient woodlands, red squirrels and herds of deer. Nearby, you can use the Pod as a base to explore attractions all around, within 1-2 hours by car: Isle of Skye, Fort William for Ben Nevis, Glen Coe, Cairngorms National Park, Outlander sites, and various whisky distilleries.
