With remnant forest surrounds, a solar-heated pool & proximity to Merricks beach (6 mins), everything is here to help you unwind. A barbecue, pizza oven, outdoor sink & two deck seating areas will draw you outside to enjoy balmy evenings. Nearby is Merricks Store and plenty of great wineries. The space What makes staying at Elsewhere unique is that we are a family with good food in our hearts, & good food can be at the heart of your adventure with us too! Owner, Frenchman & chef Patrice @maisonbypatrice could provide you with a cooked breakfast, a cosy dinner for two or a hosted lunch party for up to twelve served round the farmhouse table. Having owned a hatted French restaurant in Melbourne for 15 years, we made the sea/tree change to find our green place we are so excited to share. Outdoors, you'll love the open air dining area with a green view over paddocks. Our pool and pool deck are visible from Elsewhere's deck area, but are a bit off to the side. Guests can enjoy the beautiful pool between the hours or 3 pm and 5 pm Dec-Mar, while at other times it remains for private owners' use. The spa is not available for guest use. Elsewhere is a separate cottage with its own parking and entrance, situated adjacent to the main house, which is separated from the cottage by just a few metres of garden & deck. Although your privacy and ours is important to us, there is a certain “togetherness” in the way our property is laid out in the outdoor areas. You can see a corner of the main house in one of the external photos. For privacy & safety reasons Elsewhere is NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12. There is no stove/oven, but we do have a full family-sized fridge & a load of appliances: there's a microwave/grill, portable induction hotplate, a Nespresso coffee machine, two electric fry pans, a dishwasher, washing machine, Weber Q barbecue, and plenty of pots and utensils. Guest access Elsewhere is located down a quiet country lane with parking right out front. Things to note: to get from your car up to the cottage, there's a short walkway of natural stepping stones and eight uneven steps up with no hand rail. Other things to note You'll find breakfast for the first day of your stay in the fridge: granola, yoghurt, home made compote, preserves, butter and local bread or home made brioche, milk and fruit or juice.
