Sweet Winds Farm, U.P. Welcome Snow lovers

Sweet Winds is delightful set back in time farm property located 1 mile inland from Lake Huron in the Upper Peninsula. The house is a blend between a cottage, UP cabin, and farm. Its cozy in the winter and nature in abundance in the warmer months. Wildlife is abundant with a lot to observe and star filled skies. The 10 acre farm is located centrally to St. Ignace (15-20 mins), Les Cheneaux Islands (15 mins) and Sault Ste Marie ( 45 mins), Easy to get to other Eastern UP destinations. The space LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! There are 3 bedrooms ( 2 twins, Full, and Queen). The living room is complete with a wood stove. Kitchen has most everything you would need to prepare your own meal. WINTER: Snowmobilers...you can park your trailers. Jump on trail #47 within a mile from the driveway. Access hundreds of miles of trails from the farm. SUMMER: We have box fans, if you need airflow, however the nights generally are cool and comfortable. Air conditioning is not really needed 1 mile off shore from Lake Huron. There is a picnic table and 2 outdoor loungers, 6 fireside chairs and a chiminea. The small porch is perfect for sipping a hot drink in the morning while watching the farm come to life. Or, a cool drink in hand after a day outdoors in the evenings. The farm is located off of a paved highway M134, then about 1 mile or so on a gravel road. SPRING/FALL: Best kept secret about the Upper Peninsula. Incredible nature viewing and opportunities for Aurora in the fall. If you love the outdoors, wildlife, and peacefulness, this is the place for you. Guest access The house will be entirely yours during your stay. We please ask that you do not go into the big red barn, as this is where the chickens are living. We currently have a very nice rooster who is gracious if you provide safe treats in the yard. You will see them come out from time to time. Free free to enjoy exploring the property, its very beautiful in the mornings and sunsets. Other things to note Currently we do not have wifi, but hope to get it in the future if the demand is there. A screen is available for location television. Internet access is available through personal cellular service. There are books and games. However, if you have your favorites it is perfect place to step back in time without the distractions of being "plugged in". This farm is working its way into be a sustainable agricultural farm, a long range vision. When you visit you will see the early stages. And, your stay will support its development. If you like to explore the numerous trails via ATV or snowmobile, the farm is located on trail, guiding you to 100's of miles in Hiawatha National Forest. The birding at the farm is amazing including sandhill cranes nesting at the back of the property, turkeys, raptors and eagles perched in the tree line. We are located not too far from Rudyard (15-20 mins away), if you like to view snowy owls in the winter months and spring time gathering. Only 1 hour 1/2 from Whitefish point for Spring birding. The Lake Huron shoreline hosts a variety of migratory warblers and shorebirds.
