The local community is great and always willing to lend a helping hand. There has been a lot of rebuilding on the peninsula including a large luxury RV resort. This resort offers limited day passes to the public and residents for a daily fee, where the guest may experience live entertainment, dining, pools, hot tubs, and more. *BMB Capital Ventures has no affiliation with the resort company* Car to and from the peninsula is recommended. ALTERNATE ROUTE FROM HOUSTON (to avoid the Ferry): Take I-10 east to Winnie (exit# 828), then head south on Highway 124 until you come to the beach road, Highway 87. Turn right, go about 17 miles to Crystal Beach. BY FERRY: Head southeast on I-45 S, Continue onto Broadway Avenue J, Pass by Auto Plus Auto Parts (on the right in 0.3 mi), Continue onto Seawall Blvd, Turn left onto Ferry Rd. The Galveston-Port Bolivar ferry takes travelers on SH 87 between Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. One vessel is in operation 24 hours per day. A second vessel will be placed in service at 6:30 a.m. After this departure, the two vessels will operate based on traffic volumes, and will space themselves to carry traffic as efficiently and safely as possible. A third vessel will be placed in service during the afternoon period if necessary. Up to five vessels may be operated for summer and holiday traffic. Vehicles should not exceed 80,000 pounds, may have a maximum length of 65 feet, a maximum height of 13.5 feet and a maximum width of 8.5 feet.
