Description
Little Owl is that storybook A-frame you’ve seen in Cabin Porn, Cabin Chronicles, Seattle Met, Apartment Therapy, Airbnb Magazine, The Oregonian, and Country Living. Just 20 minutes from Mt. Rainier National Park, White Pass Ski Area, and the Pacific Crest Trail. Amenities include a custom two-pool hot tub, speedy Wi-Fi, EV charging, gas grill, pellet stove, laundry, and an ergonomic workstation with 4K monitor. We’re dog-friendly, and only 2½ scenic hours from Seattle or Portland. The space Our cabin borders National Forest land and sits just yards from Coal Creek, where the sound of cascading water and towering evergreens surround you in pure forest immersion—whether you’re on the deck, the balcony, the patio, or soaking under the stars. Sleep comes easy on premium Leesa and Brooklinen bedding: a king upstairs, plus a queen and twin downstairs. For extra plush comfort, we provide optional 2-inch memory-foam toppers and a choice of pillows: synthetic down alternative and/or adjustable memory foam. Chefs will love our fully renovated kitchen, featuring Café and Miele appliances; cookware by Hestan and Staub; a Zojirushi rice cooker, Technivorm coffeemaker, Vitamix, Wüsthof knives, sous vide cooker, and more utensils than we can list. Our custom hot tub, featuring two pools, is designed to mimic the look and feel of a natural hot springs. It's a blissful place to unwind under the tree canopy, with the sounds of Coal Creek in the background. Other indoor amenities include: - A pellet wood stove (downstairs) and an electric Malm fireplace in the upstairs loft. - An Epson HDR projector and movie screen (60 inches wide) paired to a Bose soundbar. - Seating and furnishings, selected for design quality and comfort, by Herman Miller, Bludot, Modernica and Steelcase. - Laundry in the downstairs bunk room closet. - A complete workstation: 4K 27" Dell monitor, laptop stand, Steelcase ergonomic chair, ring light, keyboard and mouse. - Onsen bathrobes by Brooklinen. Outdoor amenities include: - Level 2 EV charger (24 amps) - Broilmaster gas grill - Backup generator, for continuous comfort during power outages. - Hammock chairs (balcony and front patio) - Solo Stove fire pit Important to note: Our cabin offers plenty of privacy, but we do have neighbors. This is not an "off-the-grid" cabin: We're in a vacation home community, but adjacent to National Forest and fully immersed in the sounds and sights of a dense evergreen forest. Guest access Small children are not allowed in the upstairs loft or on the bunk bed. Other things to note We love hosting, and we want you to have the best possible experience here. To that end, it's critical that every adult in your party reads and acknowledges these house rules. GENERAL HOUSE RULES This is a place to relax, cook, do yoga, read, meditate, nap in the hammock, or just quietly hibernate inside the cabin. Don't even think of hosting a party here. If your plans include keg stands, beer pong, Jackass stunts, loud music, or any other Animal House fantasies, please keep looking. You'll get evicted, annoy our neighbors, and forfeit your deposit. We promise, it will suck for everyone. Check-in time is 4:00. Check-out time is noon. We cannot accommodate requests for early check-ins or late check-outs, no matter the season or circumstances. Flushing anything but pee, poop or toilet paper is the surest way to ruin your stay and forfeit your deposit. You'll back up the septic system, which could have really foul consequences. The minimum charge to clear a septic clog is $600. The max occupancy at this property is 5 people. We cannot accept more than 5 people under any circumstances, and no more than 5 people are allowed at the property at any given time. Parties of 6+ will be evicted. The Washington Department of Natural Resources usually restricts outdoor fires in the summer to prevent wildfires. Burning during a ban is dangerous; the penalties are severe, and any violators will be reported and evicted without negotiation or compensation. We'll put a large magnet on the refrigerator when there's a burn ban in effect. The land surrounding our cabin is home to a vast array of wildlife. Cougars, bears, bobcats and coyotes have been seen around here. Supervise your children and pets very closely. Amplified music is not allowed anywhere on the deck or in the front yard. The forest is as fragile as it is breathtaking. Be mindful of your footprint, and please do your part to respect and preserve this special place. Don't harm the trees, dump waste, litter, or burn anything outside of the fire ring. Bag your pet's poop every time. Do not put anything but people and bathing suits in the hot tub. Soap, sand, candles, or just about anything but people will damage the equipment and result in a steep charge to your deposit. As the registered guest, you're required to share this information with others in your party and take responsibility for any damage(s) they might incur during your stay. PHOTOGRAPHY Commercial filming or photography, including wedding photography, is forbidden without prior consent. Commercial photography is defined as any photography that may be used to promote a brand, service or product; or where the photographer is receiving money from a third party (including a registered guest) to take photos on our property. You'll need to contact us outside of Airbnb if you wish to use our cabin for a photo shoot. (Please know in advance that we take this policy very seriously, and that violation will result in immediate eviction without negotiation or compensation, and possible legal action.) SECURITY CAMERAS AND NOISE MONITORS We have a security camera mounted on the front side of the home, facing the driveway and street. You may be recorded as you come and go. We also use noise monitoring devices at this property. They do not record actual sounds or conversations; they simply monitor noise levels (measured in decibels), and notify us when those levels exceeds a maximum threshold. Disconnecting the camera or the noise monitors will result in eviction. EVENTS We cannot host events of any kind, of any duration, no matter the guest count. This includes weddings, elopement ceremonies, and receptions. Please, do not send us a booking request for your event. We will not consider exceptions. PETS Up to 2 dogs are allowed on the property. We do not charge pet fees. In accordance with local laws and community covenants, your dog must remain on leash at all times. SMOKING (TOBACCO AND CANNABIS) Our indoor smoking ban includes tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes. If we smell smoke or cannabis, you can expect a claim and charge to your credit card. SUBLEASES AND TRANSFERS Your booking is non-transferable, and no right to sublease is allowed or implied. The guest of record must be present at check-in and check-out. WINTER DRIVING We are accessible year-round from Seattle, Portland and points east. We're about 1,500 feet beneath the snow line for most of the winter. Snow isn't nearly as abundant or common here as you might think, but we will get blasted a couple of times a year. Our cabin is located on a county road that gets plowed when there's snow, but we still recommend AWD with good tire tread in the snowy months (generally January to March). HOT TUB, LOFT LADDER and BUNK BED WAIVER (The insurance company requires this. By booking with us, you agree to these terms and conditions.) Should any equipment be in a state of disrepair, I will alert owner in lieu of using said equipment. 6. I understand that a risk of injury and/or illness is present when engaging in or utilizing a hot tub, loft ladder or bunk bed(s), and I assume all responsibilities and risk of participation in this activity. I understand that failure to follow listed policies may increase those risks and incur charges to my CC on file related to any breakage, abuse of equipment, and/or abuse and negligence of the policies given and signed upon check-in. 7. In consideration of the acceptance of my agreement, I intend to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators and do hereby release any and all sponsors of this facility and their representatives, successors and assigns from any and all liability arising from injuries, including illness and death, that I may suffer as a result of my usage of the hot tub, loft ladder or bunk bed(s). 8. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT, RELEASE & WAIVER LIABILITY, AND I KNOW ITS CONTENTS. I HAVE VOLUNTARILY ACCEPTED IT AS PART OF MY ACCEPTANCE OF THE HOUSE RULES AS MY OWN FREE ACT.
