Cabin 5 has two bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. It has a kitchen with all the basics, a lovely living room with an eating area, and a full bathroom. It's on a 4.5 acre property shared by a few other cabins, an open field, a wooded area, and a barn. The Perch at Twin Peaks is unique because it is a set in a residential area. It's unusual to find such a large flat open space up here in the mountains with private cabins. We have an open space as well as a forested area and together they give you a feeling like you're far away from it all yet only 1.5 hours from LA. Our cabins are rustic yet stylish, and modern and close to many great restaurants. Wake up to the birds singing in the morning and the owls hooting by night. We are visited by deer and coyotes most mornings as well as the occasional bear and bobcat. There are many wonderful hiking & off-road trails ranging from easy to difficult nearby and we are just 10 min from one of the best paragliding sites in the world. We are perfectly located in the middle of most things you would want to enjoy on the mountain. Lake Arrowhead is just 10min away where can visit The Village, a beautiful shopping complex with great restaurants and views of the lake. We are also just 10 min from Crestline where you can go bowling, swim at Lake Gregory, or rent a small boat, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Sky Park at Santas Village is just 15 min up the mountain and Snow Valley is the nearest ski resort at just under 30 min away. You're welcome to roam the area. Each cabin has its own space plus there is a large shared open area, barn and wooded area. The BBQs, outside dining and furniture and the fire pit (check if it's allowed by fire dept) are shared by all guests. Interaction is mainly by email or text, and we have self check in so you're pretty much on your own. You're welcome to contact us any time with questions and we'll get right back to you. While you're on the property, call our property manager if you need anything at all. She lives just a couple of minutes away and will help you with any of your needs. We'll send you her contact info before your arrival. Twin Peaks is an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County, with a population of just under 2000. It's 2.5 miles (as the crow flies) from Lake Arrowhead which is a private lake. Lake Gregory, in Crestline, is a public lake, and also within 10 minutes away. The Perch is quite near a popular hiking trail to Strawberry Peak, where there's a fantastic view of the county below. Twin Peaks was originally called Strawberry Flat because when it was founded in the 1860's, there were many strawberry farms. Wikipedia says we have a 'warm summer, Mediterranean climate". Twin Peaks is about 10 minutes from Arrownhead and Crestline, 45 minutes to Big Bear, and 11 minutes to Sky Park at Santa's Village. We are near lots of hiking trails, parasailing, great views, restaurants and grocery stores. Other shopping could be found at Crestline and Arrowhead Village. In warm months, there's a farmer's market on Thursdays in Twin Peaks. There are various winter sports in the area and in the summer there's lake activities at Lake Gregory in Crestline. You'll need a car to get to Twin Peaks. Take the 210 to Rim of the World Highway (CA 18). Coming from LA you'll take 189 up to Twin Peaks. No smoking in the cabins. This is a high risk forest fire area. Also, no campfires or fire pits are allowed in the area. County ordinances require quiet time at 10:00 and that all pets be on a leash when outside. If it's snowing, you'll need a a 4WD vehicle or chains and for your own safety and convenience, you may be asked to park in the front of the property. If you want to bring a pet, there's an additional pet fee and we ask that you ensure the pet does not go on the beds or furniture. If your cabin has a fireplace, please note that these are gas fireplaces, and are not to be used for wood! When it's snowy or icy, you'll need a 4WD vehicle, or snow chains (maybe both). In extreme weather, you may be asked to park up in front of the property for your own convenience and safety.
