History of Maison Desplats/Deplà The residence is the work of the prestigious Franco-Argentine architect Gustavo Desplats and his son Gustavo Desplats. The incredible decorated wooden staircase is the work of Saturnino Desplats, son of Miguel Desplats, Argentina's first master staircase builder and winner of the silver medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition (1889) for his staircase design. All the fittings are by José Desplats. Inventor of the Desplats banner system. The house was built as the residence of José Armando Desplats and his wife Raquel Desplats de Desplats. Respectively the children of José and Gustavo, nephews of Saturnino and grandchildren of Miguel. The host is a direct descendant of the original owners of the house and lot for over 150 years.
