Hi, we’re Mike and Roze— Welcome to our Victorian built in the 1860s! This fixer-upper was our first home together, which we renovated as newlyweds. To this day, we are constantly DIY-ing and upgrading the space when we come to enjoy Ithaca. When we are not using the space, we love opening our doors to the right guests. We hope the right guests find us! Located at the West End of downtown Ithaca, our home is spacious with features such as a large yard, private driveway, wide porches, huge kitchen, and is within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and bars. The kitchen is spacious, vegan-friendly, & fully stocked with premium appliances. The living room has an 80” TV for a wonderful movie experience, & we have a large backyard perfect for a propane fire pit and al fresco dining. We have two bedrooms featuring king-sized beds in each, two private rooms with single/twin beds in each, and various amenities such as a large personal library. We open our home mainly for the traveling pet owner with a need for a spacious kitchen :) All of the spaces on the property are for your use, except for one owner’s storage area that is explicitly marked and monitored (use of storage area for emergency exit is ok). Everything else is yours for private use, including: -front porch -backyard -driveway (room for three/four cars) -all entrances and mud room Occasionally, our landscapers/lawn maintenance/snow removal/pest control people may service the property, but they will always remain outside. We love to host our guests, and we pride ourselves on being available 24/7 via text, phone, and email, for any questions, comments, and issues as they arise (though we are happy to meet in person if that is your preference and we are not too far away on our business trips!) To be sure, this is our home, so our ideal situation would be to host people that are comfortable communicating issues as they arise so we can help facilitate a wonderful stay. However, we also value privacy and discretion so we are happy to be as hands-off as you need us to be. We are in a place called the West End, that is up-and-coming. There are walkable amenities such as restaurants, cafes, breweries, gyms, wine-tasting rooms, grocery stores, and so much more. We love this location! We also love that we offer off-street parking in a very busy area. Public transport in Ithaca is an excellent way of getting around. TCAT handles our buses, LimeBikes are Ithaca’s bike-share system (operable via an app), and Uber/Lyft was finally introduced a couple of years ago, thank goodness! It is illegal to burn recreational wood fires within Ithaca City limits, so we have supplied a propane fire pit for the backyard. We do not supply propane but we do provide propane tanks for refill (which you can trade in at the corner gas station). You can swap out the empty propane tank for a new one when it runs out for your own usage, as is mentioned in your welcome message and other areas. Please be sure to properly turn off the propane at the end of each use.
