La Jolla is also home to Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography and plenty of cultural attractions including the La Jolla Playhouse and the Museum of Contemporary Art, all situated in close proximity to The Village. The University of California San Diego, which hosts the popular Geisel Library and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, are both located in La Jolla as well. La Jolla's biggest draw for locals and visitors alike are the beautiful beaches. During the summer and autumn months, the surf is relatively gentle, with warm waters in 70s. Swimmers, snorkelers, scuba divers, kayakers and surfers can enjoy the golden sands of La Jolla Shores, the Cove and Windansea. And be sure to keep an eye out for migrating whales off the coast as they travel to and from Baja California. La Jolla is a very walkable town! You can walk across the street to the seaside boardwalk / beach. Walk down there and you can walk all over to posh boutiques, shops, cafes, restaurants, and more! If you want to get to any other parts of San Diego it's best to drive or use Uber / Lyft. Sorry, no pets allowed here. Leave the beach at the beach, please :) There's a hose to the right of the entrance to wash the sand off your feet before coming inside. San Diego now requires all guests to sign a Good Neighbor Policy document prior to staying. We do enforce their policy so it must be signed in order to receive checkin info, but we will make it super easy for you to initial and sign :) It can all be done online.
