The lake is a water area of 12.5 km² and is nestled between the dams and the mountains. On the east side of the Dümmers are the main holiday resorts of Hüde and Lembruch. They captivate with their maritime charm and have a lot to offer for the relaxation-seeking guest. Along the kilometer-long dyke promenade, the tourist leisure offer leaves nothing to be desired. On the west bank, there is the smaller Olgahafen, which belongs to Dümmerlohausen.
