This retreat offers a 1st floor bedroom with king bed, a spiral staircase to loft with 3 twin beds, and large back deck overlooking the 2-acre pond. Only 15 minutes from Chapel Hill and Pittsboro. 5 Star Host! The space This peaceful oasis offers an open bright living space with a great hippie mid-century vibe. Enjoy your coffee on the large outdoor deck watching the ducks frolic and hearing the nearby rooster crow. Read the book written by the original builder of these A-Frames, describing his life in the counterculture and his creation of the A-frames. Being on Manns Chapel, you will hear road noise (the 'cost' of being in a very convenient location). The land and A-frames surrounding the lake were the epicenter of the Chapel Hill hippie movement in the 60's. We were honored to be featured in the Summer 2023 Chatham Magazine as a premier destination for visitors to Chatham County. Guest access This is the middle A-Frame of 3 A-Frames on a 2.3 acre lot. The house, driveway and yard are all private to the house. Other things to note There is a driveway easement across the back of the property along the lake, so be aware that the neighbors across the pond may occasionally drive by to enter or exit. Feel free to walk around behind the A-frame on the 'driveway' and check out the pond, but please do not enter other adjacent properties. Do not cross over to the other side of the pond, as that is not our property. We will provide a one-week supply of necessities for each booking, i.e. TP, paper towels, shampoo/conditioner. For longer term stays, you will be responsible for your additional necessities.
