The neighbors are friendly and have friendly, free-range dogs that greet you. This gives a sense of community and a warm, welcoming environment but you also have privacy if you desire. The location of the neighborhood is also convenient, with Safeway only 2.7 miles away and downtown just 5 miles away. This means that you'll have easy access to groceries and other amenities, as well as the city's entertainment and dining options. The lake provides a great opportunity for water-based activities such as paddle boarding and swimming in the summer. During the winter, you can also enjoy ice skating on the lake, adding to the fun and variety of activities available in your neighborhood. We always recommend our guests rent a car to be fully flexible and independent. In the winter 4-wheel drive is a MUST HAVE if there is snow and ice to reach the cabin. The road is maintained but gets icy. TURO is a great resource for car rentals in Kodiak. Neighbors have big friendly free range dogs that will greet you (golden retriever & great dane).
