Enjoy lake views from the living room, the kitchen, the dining room, and from the master bedroom. For even better views, comfortable seating is provided for all guest in the covered patio. Walk to the edge of the lake, bring your fishing poles, or walk along the cliffs to Soldiers Bluff Park to dip your toes in the water. Kayaks are available. The space Our Songbird property is located 1 hour from DFW and 30 minutes from Waco. The home has been completely remodeled it has new appliances/furnishings. Enjoy lake views from most rooms in the house. The master bedroom has unobstructed views to the lake. The French doors lead to a deck with a seating area to enjoy your morning coffee while you birdwatch or just gaze into the lake. **NOTE: Due to low water levels, currently it is not possible to walk straight into the lake or carry the kayaks from the house to the lake. There are places you can drive to and if you have the right vehicle, you can load the kayaks, drive about 5 minutes and launch them more easily. The home is 1 of 2 properties in a 1-acre lot, so each property has plenty of space. The property backs up to green land maintained by the army corps of engineers with an easy walk to the lake. The bluffs provide a great spot for fishing and to enjoy beautiful sunsets. Less than half mile hike to Soldiers Bluff Park, you can skip rocks and walk into the water. From the home there’s great picture opportunities of the Parsons Castle. A boat ramp is right on the other side of the dam, with a swimming and wadding area at Lofer's Bend Park. Clear nights provide great stargazing, and plenty of seating is available in the covered patio for those bonfire nights. The kitchen is fully equipped, and it has new stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, a breakfast bar with room for 3 and an expandable dining table with room for up to 10. The dining room has a 50-inch smart tv with Netflix and Disney+ included. The kitchen features a 36-inch gas range and electric oven, plenty of pots, pans, a blender, microwave, and toaster. A drip coffee machine, an electric kettle and Keurig machine are available. The living room features a 75-inch smart tv, seating for the entire family, and plenty of family games to keep everyone entertained. Bedroom 1 - King size bed (Smart TV with Netflix and Disney+ included), plus working desk and chair Bedroom 2 - Twin bed and full-size bed (Roku TV with Netflix and Disney+) Bedroom 3 - Queen size bed, Working area and chair Bedroom 4 - Queen size bed All bedrooms have a nice size or full-length mirror, nightstands, reading lamps, and plenty of closet space. In addition to the amenities listed, guests are provided with: * 2 toilet paper rolls per toilet room * 2 rolls of paper towels * Shower and hand towels are provided * A blow dryer * Extra linens, warm blankets and comforters are available in the closets * Dishwasher tabs, dishwasher liquid and sponge * Washing machine is preloaded with laundry soap and is auto dispensing (you can disable this if you prefer to use your own laundry soap) * Kayaks and life vests are available for guest use. Life vest must be worn by all guest while using the kayaks. As an extra safety precaution, it is recommended that little ones use a life vest while fishing by the edge of the lake. Both properties can be rented together for a total of 13 guests Guest access Guest will have access to the entire home except the owner's closet. There is plenty of parking to accommodate 3 vehicles and a boat. The code entry door is in the breezeway which is the only shared space for both properties. Other things to note As indicated in other sections, NO PETS. Our family loves to spend time in our lake house whenever possible, and since some family members are allergic to pet dander, we appreciate all guests respecting our NO PET policy. Any evidence of pets on property will result in $200 fine. No smoking or vaping is allowed inside the home, doing so will result in additional costs as needed to remediate the odors. This is a quiet neighborhood, so please be respectful of other guests and neighbors, but have fun and we hope you enjoy our home as much as we do. For security purposes, there are outside cameras in the property. Please note, though great effort is made to clear spider webs, wasp nest, and ant mounds, no home is 100% free of insects. Try to keep exterior doors closed to minimize the likelihood of insects getting inside. We love the peacefulness of mother nature, and seeing the fireflies at night, but the home backs up to the lake and we cannot prevent all insects. So please keep this in mind when you book.
