Our house resides in a private community, a 12 minute drive to Camelback Mountain for winter fun, and a 3 minute walk to the lake for summer fun! Come explore this cozy mountain house all year long and bring your hiking boots, kayaks, fishing rods, swimsuits, snowboards and skis! Our place is very pet friendly, so feel free to bring your furry companion! Our house offers a cozy, comfortable dwelling with ample outdoor space and proximity to nearby attractions. This no-frills mountain retreat has a fully-stocked kitchen, relaxing outdoor space and plenty of room to hang out with family and friends. This is our part-time mountain home and we want you to enjoy it as much as we do! Our realtor once described this house as feeling like you were wrapped in a warm blanket- we agree, and we hope you do too! This is not a professionally run vacation rental; this is our second home that we rent out when we can just to cover the costs of the home. Please take this into consideration when booking! **The Jacuzzi J245 hot tub and 75" LG smart TV installed January 2022!** Disclaimer: hot tubs are notoriously finicky as we're learning - this was a brand new purchase for 2022, but there have been a few speed bumps getting it up and running consistently. We will do everything we can to have it operational during your stay, but cannot guarantee its performance. House is also equipped with recently optimized WiFi and a second smart Amazon Fire television in the master bedroom, as well as a propane BBQ grill and fire pit (sometimes inaccessible in the winter after large snowfalls). Guests will have access to all of these amenities as well as many more kitchen essentials. We also just added a cornhole set to the house (located in dining room closet), a perfect activity when the weather allows for it. This is an all seasons cottage rental: - In the warmer months, enjoy swimming, fishing, hiking and BBQ's! Our cottage is only a 3-4 minute walk to largest of the five lakes in this private community! Feel free to enjoy the day on our property: BBQ'ing and swinging on the hammocks, or a game of cornhole while enjoying a cold one. Enjoy the night toasting marshmallows at the fire pit! - In the colder months, enjoy skiing or snow tubing at any of the local slopes and coming home to a roaring fire in the wood burning fireplace while having hot chocolate on the cozy, comfy couches. A couple of things worth noting: Summer months (June-August): the bedrooms come with individual air conditioners that cool the bedrooms quickly and efficiently, but please note that there isn’t central air conditioning in the house and that the main open common room has no air conditioning (although it is well ventilated and often has a nice breeze passing through). This hasn’t been an issue for us, but we want to make sure all of our guests are aware of this prior to booking. There are also multiple fans located throughout the house, including a brand new ceiling fan in the living room. Firewood: you are free to bring your own, or we can supply some for a nominal fee. We work on the honor system here - let us know how much you need, we’ll be happy to accommodate. As a little bonus, all weekend rentals come with logs included free of charge - please contact us after booking to coordinate! We typically limit the house to 6 people because of its size. If allowed by the township and the HOA, it may be possible to bring up to two more people, at an additional cost of $200 per person per night. This additional cost goes to cover additional cleaning expenditures and more frequent septic pumping. Please contact me for details. This is our part-time home, so do not be surprised that the fridge and the pantry are partially-stocked. But please, help yourself to anything in the kitchen! We wouldn't have it any other way. The Charbroil gas grill was just replaced May 2022. My cell phone is always on, please give me a call or text if you need anything. The cottage offers access to Emerald Lakes and beaches for rafting, kayaking, fishing and swimming! There are also basketball courts, Pine Tree Island Park, and plenty of outdoor space. The cottage itself sits on a more than one-half acre property. While this is a great house for gatherings, it is in a residential community and is not designed for raucous house parties (and we aim to be a good citizens of the community). Please be thoughtful and respectful of the neighbors. Fireworks are not permitted in Emerald Lakes. Any fireworks set off will incur a fine of $750 so please be aware! The pool and beach schedule is constantly changing, please check the Emerald Lakes website for the most up-to-date information. Portable air conditioners available for the bedrooms in the summer months or potentially earlier if given enough notice. For safety purposes, the charcoal grill, if used, needs to be taken off the deck and used in the driveway and not put back on the deck until the coals have cooled off. The grills must be properly monitored when used so that uncontrolled fires do not occur. Please note that guests are fully responsible for any damage caused by uncontrolled fires. If you use either grill, please make sure to clean it afterward with the wire brush provided for the next guests to enjoy. We have a 2+ year old puppy (named Bernie!) who stays at the house with us - please note this if you have sensitive allergies that there has been a dog in the house; we clean thoroughly but understand this may affect your stay.
