River Song House is a spacious Waterfront 5 bedroom 2 bath hideaway, with a relaxed, designer vibe. Private grounds slope down to your own Deck, Patio, & Fire pits, right on The Esopus Creek! Perfect place to chill with friends or family. Living/ Dining space w/ river views & comfy couches, 8 seat handmade table, smart TV, kitchen w/ butcher-block island, sunroom. Side deck, gas BBQ, outdoor dining tables. Great location - minutes to Woodstock, Rheinbeck, Kingston, Saugerties, hikes & shops! The space River Song was originally built back in 1930, as a fisherman's cottage. We're NYC photographers and fell in love with the house & property the first time we saw it. We decided to expand & renovate the house as our vacation getaway. We had a curated, chill, Zen- meets- rock'n'roll vibe in mind. We hope you like it ! Original music photography & 1950's movie posters decorate the walls - a nod to the rich musical and artistic heritage of the Hudson Valley. Check out the water views from the wall of windows in the living area featuring cathedral ceiling, vintage leather couches, smart TV & a dining area with an 8 seater table made from raw-edge Catskill Pine. The large kitchen has everything you need for cooking meals plus a butcher block counter window to sit & chat with whoever is making the food.. or mixing the drinks. Most of the house is on one level, including Living room, Kitchen, Dining area, 3 of the bedrooms, & the 2 full bathrooms plus a sunroom / mudroom with a work area with a desk & chair. THE BEDROOMS Bedroom #1 - The Primary Bedroom - has a luxury KING size bed, smart TV, double closet, 2 nightstands, dresser & full length mirror #2 QUEEN size bed with large closet, dresser, mirror & 2 nightstands #3 FULL size bed with large closet, full length mirror & 2 nightstands #4 Upstairs there are 2 small rooms - one is a bedroom with a screen door and an original 1930 wooden built-in SINGLE bed. #5 The other bonus room has water views, screen door & 2 additional SINGLE beds & 2 nightstands. It is often used as a meditation/reading/relaxation area too. Outside there's a covered back deck with built-in seating & chairs for morning coffee plus a large 4 burner gas grill BBQ and outdoor table & chairs for al fresco dining. The gently sloping yard goes down past a boat shed ( not in use), to a waterfront bluestone patio area with multiple Adirondack chairs, a separate fire pit area, a huge custom 10 seater outdoor table and your very own dock / deck sitting directly on the water ! Gather, relax & unwind... and get ready to sit by the beautiful Esopus Creek and watch the boats and wildlife float by ! Guest access We're very centrally located for exploring The Hudson Valley & 5 minutes drive to great supermarkets, liquor & beer stores & shopping. Our address is 'Saugerties' and we're about a 10 minute drive to the downtown Village of Saugerties ( w/great dining & stores) in one direction or 10-15 minutes in the other to the historic attractions & restaurants of Kingston. Woodstock & Rhinebeck are only 20 minutes away in either direction too ! This rental is for the main house, with private entrance and exclusive use of the grounds and waterfront. Things to Note: - No smoking or parties, events or large gatherings are permitted - There is off street parking on the driveway and free street parking too. - The front of the property has a small one bed apartment with it's own entrance, which is rented separately and not included. You may see another car on the driveway. - The shed on the property, near the water, and the studio space at the front of the house are not in use and not part of the rental. - Please Note the old wood burning stove in the living area is not functional and not part of the rental. Do not attempt to light it. - Please do not leave food out on the counters or anywhere inside or outside of the property and do not overfill trash, so that we do not attract any unwanted insects or critters ! Other things to note People with children or mobility issues please note that this is a waterfront property and is bordered on one side by the Esopus Creek, with a sloping yard down to the banks of the Creek with a deck and dock, open to the water. People do swim in the Creek, but be aware it is a natural waterway and can be fast flowing and very deep in places. All swimming and entering of the water is at your own risk. At the front of the house, on the other side of the street, there's a train track with a slow-moving freight train that will trundle past, on no fixed schedule, from time to time. It's not especially loud (some folks say they love the sound), but be aware if you think that would bother you! We are surrounded by nature - some of the animals you MIGHT see, depending on the season, include Blue Heron, Bald Eagles , Kingfishers, beavers, ducks, geese, rabbits and all manner of insects & wildlife.
