Inside: 1,600 sq ft, 3 bedrooms with seriously comfortable beds, 1.5 baths, a fireplace, and room for 7. Outside: 900+ sq ft of deck looking straight into the old growth. About an hour from Seattle, easy to reach year-round, pets welcome. The space Tucked into the moss-covered old growth of the Cascade foothills, the Pacific Bin is a true Pacific Northwest retreat. Built in 2022 from five steel shipping containers and finished in warm wood, it has a wall of glass that brings the forest right into the living room. Light the fire, watch the rain drift through the cedars and firs, and settle in. Every window looks out on old-growth forest. After a day on the trails or the slopes, warm up in the traditional Scandinavian wood-burning sauna, rinse off in the steam room, and finish under the trees in the hot tub. Then crawl into some of the most comfortable beds you’ll find, a favorite in nearly every review. The cabin sits on its own 2 private acres, with a private driveway used only by Pacific Bin guests. The larger property also holds Cedar Hollow, a separate rental cabin, and the owner’s personal barndominium. Each sits on its own acreage with its own driveway, and dense forest surrounds the Bin on all sides. Guest access You’ll have the Pacific Bin and its 2 acres to yourselves, including the home, the wraparound deck, the wood-burning sauna, the steam room, the hot tub, and the private driveway. None of it is shared with anyone else. Check-in is easy. You’ll receive a personalized keypad code 3 days before arrival, and you can let yourself in anytime after check-in time. Never used a wood-burning sauna? No problem. You’ll find simple instructions in the sauna, along with a QR code linking to a short video that shows you how to get the fire going. A short private trail, a few hundred feet long, leads through the old growth to a hammock tucked into the trees. Please stay on the trail to protect the forest floor and the plants and wildlife that live there. The cabin is easy to reach year-round. The occasional winter dusting usually melts off quickly. Other things to note Fireplace – The gas fireplace is usually on from November through March. The exact timing depends on outside temperatures and is at the owner’s discretion, so the fireplace isn’t heating the cabin while the AC is running. In the warmer months, you can still switch on the light inside the fireplace for the same cozy glow. Pets – Pets are welcome! We just ask that you pick up after them anywhere on the property. Hot tub – Please keep glass out of the hot tub area, and close the cover whenever the tub isn’t in use. This keeps the water clean and warm for you. Occasionally the tub is drained and refilled between stays. When that happens, it takes several hours to heat back up, and a tub refilled in the late morning is usually ready by about 9 pm. Wildlife – Deer are frequent visitors to the property and fun to spot from the deck. Since the cabin is in the forest, black bears may also pass through. Please don’t leave food in your vehicles, and never feed any wildlife. If you see a bear, enjoy it from a distance and give it plenty of space. Connectivity – Cell service is strong for all major carriers. Wi-Fi runs on T-Mobile Home Internet, which is fast and reliable for streaming and remote work. Camera – There is one exterior camera covering the parking area only. It does not view the home, deck, sauna, hot tub, or any other guest spaces.
