Laurel cottage is nestled in the Dorset hills just 10 minutes from the beach and the market town of Bridport. The cottage is cosy, quirky and offers plenty of space to sit back and relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large electric range and all the modern conveniences you’ll need, whether you’re preparing a three-course feast or simply popping a pizza in the oven. The cosy living room is centred around a large wood-burning stove — perfect for putting your fire-lighting skills to the test. Once glowing, it creates a wonderfully warm atmosphere for board games with family and friends, or for unwinding with a film on the smart TV. Upstairs, you’ll find a comfortable king-size bedroom with impressive vaulted ceilings and beautiful countryside views. There is also a twin room offering one standard single bed and one smaller single bed. For additional guests, a sofa bed is available in the living room. The private garden, accessed directly from the kitchen diner, is a peaceful spot for outdoor living. Fire up the large coal BBQ and cook the catch of the day from the harbour in Bridport or grill a few famous Dorset sausages. With outdoor seating for six, it’s the perfect place to soak up the sunshine and enjoy a meal in the fresh countryside air. Laurel Cottage is perfectly placed to explore the vibrant market town of Bridport, known for its independent shops, artisan cafés, and twice-weekly street market. Just a short drive away is the picturesque harbour at West Bay, famous for its dramatic golden cliffs and stunning coastal views along the Jurassic Coast. The area offers fantastic coastal and countryside walks, with the Jurassic Coast right on your doorstep. Explore iconic landmarks such as Golden Cap — the highest point on England’s south coast — or enjoy gentler strolls along the South West Coast Path. Dog owners will be especially delighted. Wonderful countryside walks begin directly from the back door of the cottage, with footpaths leading through rolling fields and peaceful rural lanes. Many local beaches, including parts of West Bay, welcome dogs year-round or seasonally, making this an ideal escape for four-legged friends. After a long walk, there are several dog-friendly pubs and cafés in the area where both you and your pet can relax. Guest access There is private, off road parking for one vehicle at the property. Access to the property is through a neighbours garden and gates need to be closed behind you at all times. Other things to note We welcome dogs into the property, we have a dog bed and some food and water bowls. We try to leave a spare lead and some doggy bags in case you run out. We ask that the dogs remain downstairs for their stay, a stair gate is provided if it is needed. The cottage has some quirky flooring in places due to the age of the property so people a little unsteady on there feet may struggle in places. There is parking for one vehicle at the property. Access to the property is through a neighbours garden and gates need to be closed behind you at all times. We have some board games for your evening entertainment, along with a 42" smart TV. Or you can use our pub walking kit that consists of some hi-vis jackets and a flashy torch to trundle up the the local pub just 10 minutes away.
