Lots of updates recently - a new wrap-around sunset deck, improved parking, a sliding door out to the deck from the kitchen, and a warm & inviting hot tub. Join us in 2024 for the 17th year of the Otter Rock Oasis. Fresh, fun & ideal for a casual stay with family and friends. Access Beverly Beach - a long, walk-able (and surf-able) stretch of coastline 2 blocks south or wander across the street to the Marine Garden, to explore tidepools and the Devil's Punchbowl. This is a family home - comfortable not luxurious but it has all the things we want when we go to the beach. Cook in a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining room table. There are many spice basics, flour, sugar, coffee, tea, oil, and such similar things too. We share plastic wrap, foil, ziplocs, and all the things you have in your own kitchen. (Things do run out occasionally so no guarantee on all the exact contents of the cupboards!) Pick up some seafood at the Chelsea Rose in the Newport docks to grill on our bbq! Our wrap-around sunset deck has bright blue rocking chairs to relax and enjoy the sunsets. And new in December 2023 we added a hot tub on a new section of the north side deck. Enjoy streaming movies & shows from our comfy sectional or play one of the many provided board games. With over 1,500 square feet of space on two floors, there is room to spread out and relax. Wifi too! A reading corner in the living room is a nice place to relax or nap too. Access to the balcony from the upstairs offers chairs for a distant view of Yaquina Lighthouse and fun people watching in the summer. Upstairs, the one bedroom has a queen-size bed and a full/twin bunk bed. This is a perfect spot for the kids to bunk up! The second bedroom downstairs has a queen bed with an adjacent bathroom and shower. We have a futon in the downstairs bonus room that provides another sleeping option. There is a full size washer and dryer in the adjacent laundry room. For the kiddos, we have a host of toys and books to entertain most ages. There is a booster chair with a tray that you can attach to a kitchen chair and we have a pack and play if you want to bring your own sheet. There is a wooden baby gate too. Perfect for a family vacation, a girl's weekend, or getting away with friends. We do have a 2 day minimum stay requirement but sometimes offer single days in between other stays, during slower times, or last minute. Your personal key code is sent via email prior to your arrival. Regular check in time is 4 pm and check out is 11 am. We want you to enjoy our house and we are always available for any questions or concerns during your stay. We can help in person too if you need us for something urgent. We do have regularly scheduled yard care (usually around the 1st and 15th of each month). We try to coordinate it to happen in between guests but it’s not always possible - and plants grow fast & loose at the ocean. They typically take an hour, and never start too early. We will give you a heads up that they are coming. (Our yard isn’t much for hanging out in by the way. Great to drop your surfboards or set up our beach chairs while you crack open oyster shells for the BBQ but not really a key destination in our house.) Our house is across the street from the Marine Garden, Oregon's smallest protected preserve that is home to awe inspiring tidepools. Two blocks away is Devil's Punchbowl State Park where you can picnic, surf, or play all day on the beach below. Right down the street, you'll find Mo's Chowder, Flying Dutchman Winery, Cliffside Coffee & Sweets, and Pura Vida Surf Shop. Otter Rock is a small town, just 8 miles north of Newport and 5 miles minutes south of Depoe Bay. Drive just 19 miles north to Lincoln City to enjoy even more great beaches, outlet shopping, and the Chinook Winds Casino. There is also another restaurant called Spyglass Inn within semi-easy walking distance at the resort nearby called the Inn at Otter Crest. Call them to confirm hours, but they have a great view, full bar, yummy cinnamon rolls, and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be aware that there are about 100 steps down (and back up!) to Beverly Beach where people surf. There is also a sloping path with some scrambling required to get down to the Marine Garden. Go slow & steady and it will be worth it! Higher rates apply during summer, major holidays, and events. Winter season on the Oregon coast offers our best rates! Minimum 2 night stay is sometimes required. Single day reservations may be available between other guests - contact us and we might be able to squeeze you in! Please do not sleep in campers, RV’s, or trailers in our parking areas. Our rental license allows 6 people max at the home for the septic volume. Please do not bring your pet and just leave it in the car. We love them but for allergy reasons we don’t allow pets in our home. Please be safe & respectful when you use the hot tub. Children must be supervised and quiet times are between 10PM to 7AM.
