Welcome to the Retro Roost! Chicago's Avondale neighborhood. Sleeps 4 Guests/2 bedrooms, 1bath, separate entrance and exit and a full kitchen. Top floor of a three unit apartment. Sunny third story apartment filled with color and vintage pieces to bring a sense of fun and wonder to your Chicago visit. We hope for your stay to be comfortable, safe, and fun while in your separate top unit apartment. The space 2 guests in the Master Bedroom// King Bed. 2 guests in the other Bedroom// Two Twin Mattresses set on Trundle bed. This totally charming home comes with a few quirks because she was built in 1911 some are beautiful and some are silly. The stairs going up to the roost are steep so watch your step. We hope you love the stained glass windows you'll find as you ascend to your apartment, they are dreamy. there are two flights of stairs there is not free parking in front of the house you will need to circle the block to try and find parking Guest access Guests can access their apartment through the side door of the home. There is free parking on Barry Street (not the street directly in front of the house but beside it). It is about 12 steps up to your top floor suite. Other things to note There are three cameras on the property, all facing outside the house. One located on the front door. One located on the side of house at the Airbnb Guest entrance. One located on the back door facing the backyard. There are steep stairs in the entrance of the retro roost. There is only one entrance and one exit to the retro roost located on the side of the bungalow. There is a drop down window ladder located above the fridge for use in case of an emergency from any window in the retro roost. We live in the first floor apartment of the home and are available with any questions or concerns during your stay. The stairwell leading up to the apartment is shared with the hosts who periodically enter their unit through the side entrance. We are pet friendly and allow one large or two small dogs ($50 pet fee). We are located in the Avondale neighborhood in Chicago. The Avondale neighborhood has been ranked one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world! Time Out Magazine gave Avondale the 16th coolest spot on a list of 51. The magazine asked city dwellers worldwide to pick their city's neighborhoods with great dining and drinking options, and energetic street life. Time Out Chicago editor Emma Krupp wrote that Avondale, once and still a center of Chicago's Polish community, is now "equally defined by some of the city's best Mexican food and a truly madcap array of small businesses." Specifically, Krupp mentioned The Brewed horror-themed coffee shop, at 2843 N. Milwaukee Ave., and The Insect Asylum entomological collection at 2870 N. Milwaukee Ave. – among an assortment of others she named as stops for a "perfect day" in Avondale.
