Quintessential Maine cabin w/ private waterfront
Experience the historic Fox Glen Cabin with all the 1930s charm—updated with everything you need for a restful lakeside vacation! Enjoy your coffee on the screened-in porch overlooking the water or watch the sunset during a leisurely kayak. 5 minutes from a microbrewery and 15 minutes from the historic downtown & local restaurants. This cozy cabin is pet friendly and perfect for up to 7 people, includes a full kitchen, beautiful stone hearth & gas fireplace, washer/dryer, fire pit, & 2 kayaks. The space A true Maine log cabin with all the amenities needed for your relaxing getaway. 5 minutes from a microbrewery and 15 minutes from the historic downtown with local restaurants. 1 hour from both Portland & Booth Bay Harbor. 2 hours from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Inside the cabin you'll find a full kitchen that opens to a charming living room/dining room combo with a massive stone hearth and new gas stove fireplace. Two comfortable bedrooms and a lofted space make a cozy stay for 7. The lofted space has two twin beds and a twin-sized futon. Access this overflow sleeping space using a sturdy ladder. Although the loft space is fun spot, it’s not suitable for young children. A claw foot tub/shower combo completes the 1930s feel. Large windows and a screened-in front porch look out to Three Cornered Pond. Relax in adirondacks on the water with your morning coffee or afternoon beverage and eat s’mores around the fire pit. Two docks and two kayaks to explore the waterfront. Although we are on a "pond," that term is used differently in Maine than it may be in other areas. The water is clear, not murky, and comparable to a small lake with a sandy bottom where you walk into the water. Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or reading, there is something for you and your family or friends here! Guest access The entire property, including the cabin and waterfront, is yours! Other things to note Two dogs are welcome but must be leashed while outside. We ask that you do not leave your dogs in the cabin alone if you leave the property, unless you’ve brought a crate. There is no boat or boat launch as part of the rental at this time but we have 2 single kayaks for your use. We also have adult and child life jackets, swimming noodles, and blow up floats. The ladder that leads to the loft is fixed in place but is not suitable for children to climb. The loft has low railings and is not suitable for children to sleep or play in. The top of the ladder has a wire going across it—the cabin was built in the 1930s and has been fully redone, but supports needed to be installed to keep the original structure. You must exercise caution when going down the ladder, especially at night.
