#007996 Welcome to the Historic Crested Butte Mule Barn. The Mule Barn was originally used in the 1800's for housing the mules used to mine for coal. It was originally located on "the bench", overlooking Crested Butte, near the mine. It was moved downtown in the 1970's and converted into a live-in work of art. ***We do accept DOGS! Limit 2 dogs per stay. $25/pet/night pet fee applies. The first floor has three bedrooms and a full bathroom. The second floor is the kitchen, living room(with queen sized fold out sofa), dining area and another full bathroom. After a complete renovation in 2019, it is now a perfect mix of rustic and modern. Find yourself greeted by rustic charm from the moment you enter the unique barn door front door, and step into a work of art with spiral staircase rising 3 floors, hand hewn barn wood and a modern kitchen to enjoy cooking for a special occasion or just a simple dinner. Enjoy a wonderful view of Mt. Crested Butte from the living room as you relax by a roaring fire watching a movie or reading a good book. Full access to 1st and 2nd floors. Third floor is closed to guests. I am always just a phone call away and can have a person at the house if needed. -Once you’re here you don’t need a car and if you don’t want to rent a car at all and are flying in you can take Alpine Express from the airport directly to the Mule Barn on Maroon Ave. -The Mule Barn is totally remodeled, be the first guests to experience the unique historic building. -140 years ago the Mule Barn was used to house the mules to pull ore cars out of the mines, Now it is a luxurious renovated condominium with all the modern conveniences. -Enjoy views of Mt. Beth Keene Free Ski Locker 20 Steps From the Slopes With the Mule Barn you have a free ski locker 20 steps from the slopes. This will take the hassle out of carrying ski equipment back and forth to the ski area. From the Mule Barn walk 1 1/2 blocks west on Maroon to the free bus stop. The Town Shuttle will take you back and forth to the ski area. After exiting the bus at the ski area, walk into Mountaineer Square. The lift ticket office is on your right just before exiting the Square. As you exit the Square, bear left. The entrance to the Treasury Center is in the center of the large building on the right. There are several doors leading into the Center. Go down the stairs and to the left. The door to the locker room is on your right. To access the locker room if the door is locked, you gain access as follows: First press the “C” button as a reset. The code is 81225 (hint Mt CB Zip Code) Turn knob handle to the left Turn back to the right to lock up Have a healthy and fun skiing and riding season! The Mule Barn locker is #25 (combination is 4856) go all the way to the back wall. There is room to hang 4 pair of skis, 2 on the left and two on the right. Boots hang on the pegs and other equipment however you can get it in. You might be able to get more than 4 pair of skis in. Exit at the door to your right, go up the stairs, turn left and you will be 20 steps from the slopes. I’m sure this locker will make your stay with us much more enjoyable. With the Mule Barn you have a free ski locker 20 steps from the slopes. This will take the hassle out of carrying ski equipment back and forth to the ski area. Take time to just be, or be pushed to the limit with all the recreational opportunities the Gunnison Valley has to offer. This stay will not disappoint! Once you've arrived, you can walk to shopping and restaurants, and with a free bus stop leading to the ski area, Gunnison, and many of the surrounding areas, only a block away, you could choose not to drive for the remainder of your trip. The Mule Barn is as rich in Crested Butte history as it is in comfort and charm. A stay here is an experience like no other.
