The space Our ‘Scandi-inspired home in the woods' is a blend of minimal, modern, and mid-century design (with a few curated antiques and works of art). The warm interior palette was borrowed from the colors observed in the surrounding woods.  The sofa with chaise in the living room is the perfect spot for movie nights, reading and deep conversations.  Some details you should know: - Master bedroom: floating king-size platform bed (it’s by Floyd) + ,healthy natural rubber mattress by Green Sleep (organic latex is naturally hypoallergenic) - 2nd bedroom: queen-size organic mattress by Saatva - 3rd bedroom / office:  antique desk and Noho ergonomic desk chair,  and a daybed with twin mattress for a 5th guest or family member. - Cooling / Heating: Mitsubishi heat pump - High speed internet to keep up on those heavy demands for remote work days - Even laundry is fun here! Enjoy the brand new LG Washtower with steam A perfect mix of pretty tree views in all directions, with a handful of friendly neighbors nearby. We are at the end of a private road with hundreds of acres of woods and trails behind the yard. The trails provide a great option to hike or snowshoe. - We are a 15-minute drive away from the world-class white sands of Pemaquid Beach. - There is also a spot with water access to drop a kayak in the Damariscotta River (4-min drive). Paddle yourself to lunch in the heart of town. - While visiting the ‘Napa Valley of Oysters” (where most of Maine oysters are grown), pick up some fresh ones at one of the many local farms, or partake in some weekend wine + oyster tasting right at the Walpole Barn (4 min drive). - Feel like brunch or want to shop the local farms for the freshest seasonal ingredients? - Visit the newly opened Barn Door Restaurant in Damariscotta (4 min drive) - Shop your groceries at the (beloved by locals),  Rising Tide Co-op. - Movie theater (4 min drive) - Favorite hiking spots: LaVerna, Seal Cove, Plummers Point - Food event / happy hour options: Check out Broad Arrow Farm & The Rooting Pig - A Charcuterie Bar - Oyster Head Pizza (4- min drive) Guest access Our guests will have access to the entire house, with the option to store their outdoor gear in the garage. We only ask for cars to be parked in the driveway and not in the garage space. Other things to note We have a strict 'no shoes' home, so please bring a pair of house shoes or slippers instead. We want you to feel cozy and comfortable, knowing that the home is clean and cared for.
