BIG SNOWS JUST IN- GREAT SKIING! Welcome to Tao and Julian's lake house for creative escapades, summer adventure or winter fun. The large double-property features a 3 bdr main house and a separate 1 bdr guest house. This elegant rental offers a hottub, sauna, Chef's kitchen, separate Music Studio & Cinema Room with a Steinway Grand and a 9' cinema tv. Huge backyard, and just a short walk to a private neighborhood pier and beach. Great dining, boat launch, trails, and ski resorts all nearby. We offer a private chef and home masseuse subject to availability at an additional cost. Details will be provided upon booking confirmation. The following is an overview of the various spaces on the property. MAIN HOUSE: 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, and Chef's Kitchen The Main House boasts a very large Master Bedroom with King memory foam bed. An upper deck off of the Master Bedroom overlooks the side and front yard. Two smaller bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor have a Queen, and a Full, respectively. All of the original art in the house is by renowned Canadian artist Gerald Zeldin, and Keely King. Bathrooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are both stone with heated floors. Upstairs is a walk-in shower, downstairs is a shower and bath. The Main House kitchen is a true Chef's Kitchen with a Wolf commercial gas range and all necessities for a memorable dinner party- German chef knives, copper flatware, Schott Zwiesel crystal wine glasses, ovenware, essential spices / oils etc, vintage antler steak knives, and formal place settings for 8 at the large harvest table in the dining room. Nespresso espresso machine with provided coffee capsules to relax and unwind in the mornings. GUEST HOUSE: 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and kitchenette A separate house just steps from the main house across the side yard, The Guest House features a comfortable vintage living room adjacent to a kitchenette that open onto a sprawling upper deck overlooking the back yard with lake views filtered through the pines. There is a small bathroom with a shower, and a good sized bedroom with a King memory foam mattress. THE GREAT OUTDOORS: large yard, 3 separate deck areas, hot tub, sauna, bbq The large wraparound back and side decks overlook the back yard. There is a 7 person hot tub that will be warm and ready for you upon your arrival, a 6 person steam sauna, a lounge seating area, an 8 person outdoor dining table, and top of the line Weber BBQ. The yard is an enormous grass area and wildflower area filled with sunlight where the family can play games and horse around. There is a smaller private 2nd floor deck off of the master bedroom that offers views of the property and the massive redwoods. There is another large private 2nd floor deck off the Guest House (separate from the main house) with a seating area which offers views of the back yard and filtered views of the lake. *please note that the patio furniture is covered or stored from Nov-March due to snow. ENTERTAINMENT QUARTERS: cinema, music studio & private office Welcome to our pride and joy. Beneath the Guest House are two rooms separated by a set of sliding doors- One is the Cinema where you'll find a comfy vintage sofa to sink into while you enjoy your movies (Netflix, Amazon etc) on a 9 foot cinema tv. In the next room is a stunning 1911 Steinway Grand piano. This room also has a desk where you'll be able to work remotely and in silence and privacy. The Entertainment Quarters is on the bottom floor of the Guest House and has a separate entrance accessible from the yard. OTHER AMENITIES: bicycles From spring though fall we offer 4 bikes for our guests' use, included in the rental. 2 are electric cruisers and 2 are Scott full suspension mountain bikes. There are 4 helmets that are cleaned and disinfected after each stay. We encourage our guests to explore the amazing local region on bicycle. There is a medium and a large in each bike model. The wraparound driveway can easily accommodate 6 cars. A quick walk down the road will bring you to the newest neighborhood addition, The Dog and The Bear, which is a fantastic gastro-pub offering great fare and a nice wine / beer menu. Walk a few steps further and you'll get to our private neighborhood pier and beach. Avoid the crowds in the summer down here! There are a few other fantastic restaurants nearby including the boutique grocery store and deli, Tahoma Market, the West Shore Cafe, Spoon restaurant, Firesign Cafe, and much more. The Olympic cross country trails are 5 minutes south, while Homewood ski resort is 5 minutes north, and Palisades (formerly Squaw) is just 20 minutes away. You'll find more information about all of this in our Guestbook! Any questions you have, just send us a text or message and we'll be more than happy to get back to you right away. Otherwise, you won't be bothered at all by us. We do not live on the property nor will we be there in person during your visit. Tahoma is one of most serene neighborhoods in the Tahoe basin. While it has seen a major boom in interest recently, it remains a less-crowded area with access to some of the best bays and beaches on the lake, and is close to some of the best restaurants and cafes around. Just five minutes down the road is Homewood, Tahoe's best kept secret. Even on holiday weekend there are never any lift lines, and the views of the lake from the top are breathtaking. Tahoma retains the "small-town" and "local" sensibility and with some of the historic buildings and establishments nearby (Obexers just down the road was the first marina on Tahoe, and Chamber's Landing is a historic landmark), you can really feel what it must have been like vacationing on Lake Tahoe back in the 1950's! We are currently booking private events and weddings. These must be booked in advance and separately from the airbnb listing. Please contact us to discuss your needs and vision, and we’d be happy to host your event!
