The River House is located in Historic Shipoke for a convenient, comfortable stay in Harrisburg. Easy access to major commuting routes. You can walk to John Harris Mansion, City Island (Enjoy a baseball game and other activities), restaurants, coffee shops, nightlife, Strawberry Square shops inside and outside, State Capitol Building, and more! Historic charm meets tasteful modern updating in this 3 bd, 1 bath house. Room for everyone! FYI This is not a party house. Please respect our neighbors. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND COMPLETELY. We want all our guests to make sure the River House is the right place for them. Walk into a nice size living room and dining combo area. A full kitchen is through the dining area overlooking a really cute deck/patio and backyard. This is a historical house with historical steep steps. Please be careful as you go up to the 2nd floor which features a loft/flex area, a bathroom, and a bedroom with a closet, desk/workspace, and TV. Steep steps as you head to the 3rd floor which contains a bedroom with a queen size bed, closet, and TV as well as another bedroom with 2 single beds with trundles underneath for extra sleeping space. The basement and the 2nd-floor hall closet are off-limits to guests. Guests can access any space in the house except the basement and 2nd floor hall closet. We are just a phone call or text away. If you need recommendations or directions, we’re happy to help! Located in Historic Shipoke, many amenities and points of interest are within easy walking distance. River Street was chosen for our River House because it gives you a quiet and peaceful stay. This is not a party house. We respect our neighbors and Harrisburg City. Please do not book with us if you have other intentions. The River House is close to The Harris Cameron Mansion, now home to the Harrisburg Historic Society, is only a half block away. River Front Park and City Island are across Front Street and a short walk north. So many options for entertainment, food, outdoor activities, and so much more. The River House is by the Susquehanna River. Depending on the time of year you will see wildlife and other river related things. We do not and cannot control what comes around the River House. But please know that for every changing season we do all that we can to keep unwanted pest away. Your comfort matters. IMPORTANT! There is no parking available on River Street, but guests are provided a guest pass to park anywhere on nearby streets. One parking pass will be provided. Additional vehicles can get a parking pass for $10-$15 depending on the trip duration. ALL SURROUNDING PARKING LOTS ARE PRIVATE. You will get towed or a fine. We are not responsible any charges related to illegal or unauthorized parking. Parking on Vine Street or Washington Street is closest to the River House. Please view map in the pictures. You can pay for parking in the hospital parking garage on Mary Street (1 block away). We will consider exceptions to certain house rules.
