Located on the shore of Lake Superior at Chateau LeVeaux Resort, this charming two level condo offers two private bedrooms and a loft sleeping area. The full kitchen seats six and the view of Lake Superior is unmatched from the wall of windows in the living room and the open deck. Savor the sunrises over the lake and enjoy the sound of waves from the deck, living room or first floor bedroom. Living room, bedroom, fully-equipped kitchen and full bathroom are on the main level. There is also a futon sleeper, flat screen TV with DVD player and wood burning fireplace, and hundreds of movies to borrow from the lobby. The upper level has a second private bedroom with a queen bed, half bath and a separate loft area with two twin beds that is open to the main living area below. It's a great choice for multi generation families and small groups of 6-8. I am available via the AirBnB app to answer questions. Nature surrounds you and local restaurants, skiing, a winery and shops are a short drive or bike ride away. The beautiful Oberg Mountain Scenic Overlook and hiking trail, a must-see during leaf changing season. Temperance River State Park has a free picnic and swimming area on the lake shore and great walks past spectacular waterfalls. Drive up the shore toward Grand Marais and you will find Cascade River State Park. The Gitchi Gami Bike Trail goes right in front of Chateau Le Veaux and runs parallel to Highway 61. The Lutsen Mountains recreation area and North Shore Winery are 5 miles away and offer both winter and summer activities including skiing, the alpine slide, and a scenic gondola up to the Moose Mountain Summit. Enjoy the many restaurants and live music offered year-round on the mountain. On the Lakeside of Highway 61 on the way to Lutsen, the Historic Lutsen Lodge offers a beautiful dining room and casual bar/café for dining as well as a lovely trail across the beach and Poplar River. Another mile past the Lutsen ski hill, golf course and Lutsen Lodge turnoffs, you will discover the little village of Lutsen with more shopping and the Fika coffee shop. For a longer outing, keep going along Highway 61 past Cascade state park and on into Grand Marais. Many outstanding restaurants, coffee shops, a Dairy Queen, Subway, World’s Best Donuts, Sven and Ole’s Pizza and the North House Folk School will keep you happy even on a rainy day. The Ben Franklin store is a favorite for necessities and souvenirs. Beyond Grand Marais are more state parks, including Minnesota’s highest waterfall at Grand Portage State Park and the mysterious Devil’s Kettle at Judge CR Magney State Park. Nanniboujou Lodge is the most unique and beautiful stop to have lunch on the way to Grand Portage. The Gunflint Trail (really a two lane road) out of Grand Marais will take you to the famous Boundary Waters area and several Outfitters who can rent canoes and other equipment you might need for a day of canoeing. The Gunflint Trail will also lead you to the Grand Marais Golf Course and to the Towering Pines Zip Line at Gunflint Lodge and Outfitters. There is no shortage of fun and activity on the North Shore between Tofte and Grand Marais For weekly lists of area activities, concerts, art shows and more.
