Description

Historic 1735 home on a spacious one-acre property overlooking the ocean. Enjoy swimming from the dock in Cape Porpoise’s protected cove. Two kayaks provided for exploring the lighthouse & picnicking on nearby islands. Stroll past picturesque lobster boats to the town pier, where restaurants serve fresh local lobster & drinks. Walk to morning coffee, pastries, a local grocery store, athe renowned Nunan’s Lobster Hut. Just two miles from Kennebunkport and a nine-minute drive to Goose Rocks Beach. The space Welcome to Pier 45. We are excited you are here to see our treasured home. The house was the second home built in Cape Porpoise in 1735 and has 150 feet of oceanfront in your backyard. The house sits on just shy of an acre and has a dock for you to enjoy. Swim, launch your boat or kayak out to the islands with two kayaks provided for your use. There is also a patio under the twinkle lights with many relaxing and eating areas to watch the gorgeous sunsets and bbq outside on the grill. Enjoy s'mores at the campfire after a day at the nearby beaches of Goose Rocks or Kennebunk Beach. Dinner and shopping in the renowned town of Kennebunkport is only 2 miles away. The seaside town of Cape Porpoise (part of Kennebunkport) has a grocery store within walking distance as well as Cape Porpoise Kitchen with catering options for your lunch or dinner or just stroll in for your morning coffee and pastries. Check out the local library, buy a treasure at Farm and Table or dine at the restaurants of Musette's or the famous Nunan's Lobster Hut. We love our neighbors and the town also has an enforced noise ordinance at 10pm. Please be respectful. Stroll to the other end of the road to one of the last working fishing piers in Maine and see Goat Island Lighthouse (which you can kayak out and tour) or dine at one of three restaurants overlooking the water. Guest access The house consists of 5 bedrooms, 8 beds and can sleep 13 people. There is a living room as well as a gathering room with an open kitchen, dining room table, couches and a backdoor straight out to the patio. All bedrooms have black-out blinds. There are many amenities for children, including a water table, a Swurfer swing in the backyard and child lifejackets (in two sizes). Beach towels, beach chairs, a beach-wagon and sand toys are provided for guests for nearby beach adventures. Note the property and house are historic and while amazing also comes with its own quirks. There are 300 year old stone steps to the orchard (other ways to get there) and the dock is older. While kayaks and lifejackets are provided everything on or to be used on the property is at your own risk. Other things to note Once reservations are confirmed you will receive a lease to sign outlining the house rules (no parties, no smoking on the property, etc.) as well as check-in instructions. Once signed, you will receive a unique key code. Registration Details STR21-00003
