The space Chicory Cottage Key Features: •Chicory Cottage is a one-story, 1,700 square foot home that underwent a complete remodel in 2023. •Six guests maximum •Three Bedrooms (King, King, Queen) •2.5 Baths (The primary ensuite bath has a luxury shower and double vanity. The full bath in the hallway has a shower over tub combination. There is also a powder room.) •Two parking spots in the driveway (no garage access for vehicles). •Chicory Cottage is located in the highly sought-after Kangaroo Lake area. Water Access for Kangaroo Lake is found 0.3 miles away. (Please note that vacation rental sites often use A.I. to describe our home’s proximity to Kangaroo Lake. Unfortunately, they often calculate the distance to the lake as the crow flies. Chicory Cottage is NOT lakefront. Unlike most vacation rentals, at Chicory Cottage, we wash/change out all duvet covers, living room throw blankets, and living room throw pillow covers between every guest, in addition to all the typical bed sheets and pillowcases. We take cleaning very seriously, and we don't cut corners. Our whole-home process is extremely extensive because we know that your relaxation and enjoyment depend on it. Our home is family-managed and cared for because we believe you deserve the highest level of guest experience, cleanliness, and peace of mind during your vacation. WITH THREE BEDROOMS AND 2.5 BATHS, EVERYONE CAN ENJOY PRIVATE SPACE WHILE VACATIONING TOGETHER •All three bedrooms have Roku televisions, room-darkening window treatments, fans, extra blankets, and closets. •The spacious primary bedroom has a King bed and an ensuite bathroom. The ensuite has a double vanity and a stunning walk-in shower with a rain head shower head and glass surround. • The second bedroom features a King-Size bed. •The third bedroom has a Queen bed. •Chicory Cottage also has an additional full bathroom in the hallway with a shower/tub combination. The amenities for you to enjoy in our game room include: •55" Roku TV with two reclining chairs •One-of-a-kind vintage high-top bar table with barstool seating for six •Children’s play area, table, toys, games, and books •Bumper pool •One-Up Ms. Pac-Man Video Arcade Game •Nine-foot shuffleboard table •Pop-A-Shot arcade basketball game •Children-sized ping pong table •Board games, cards, and cribbage OUTDOOR AMENITIES Our outdoor entertaining area is private and overlooks the beautiful forest next to our home. •Trex deck with a patio dining table with six chairs and an umbrella •Propane fire table with patio seating - propane provided •Gas grill with extra propane provided •Two adult-sized paddle boards with a hand cart for walking to Kangaroo Lake public access •Large fire pit with six Adirondack chairs and complimentary firewood (two bundles) •Access to the outdoor shed, which contains: Life jackets, marshmallow forks, outdoor games & activities (Corn hole, Ladder golf, Football, Yardzee, Frisbee) INDOOR AMENITIES The indoor spaces are designed for your relaxation and enjoyment, not just to look good in photos. •Comfortable living room furniture, including two recliners and a gas fireplace for use in all seasons. •The open-concept kitchen features a spacious island and modern appliances, including a dishwasher. We provide a drip coffee maker, Keurig, electric kettle, and French press, along with starter supplies of coffee and tea. Gather around the large farmhouse table with seating for six to enjoy your meals together. •Five Roku smart TVs (One in each bedroom, one in the living room, and one in the game room) •Complimentary Wi-Fi and television streaming app for live, local “cable channels”. •Enjoy the front conversation room with a vinyl record player and music library. •Central heating and air conditioning (electric baseboard heat only in garage game room). •Washer and dryer with complimentary laundry detergent Other provided amenities and supplies include bed linens, pillows, blankets, bath towels, kitchen towels, beach towels, hair dryers, an iron/ironing board, Pack n Play (2 fitted sheets available), and a classic highchair. We supply paper products, including paper towels for the kitchen and six rolls of toilet paper per bathroom. We also supply hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, and garbage bags. We supply one small, travel-size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom. We recommend bringing shower essentials for stays longer than two nights. MORE DETAILS ABOUT CHICORY COTTAGE •No pets, fireworks, firearms, smoking, tobacco, or vaping allowed on the property. •Chicory Cottage is located next to a forest and in a relatively rural area. You may encounter mosquitoes, lake flies, spiders, and other insects in the area. Guest access Guests have full access to our home and the attached garage that has been converted into a game room. There is one locked owner's closet in the hallway between the kitchen and the laundry room that is used for supplies and is not accessible to guests. There is no vehicle access to the garage, but guests are welcome to park bicycles in our game room. The garage game room has an overhead door that guests may open if they choose. The doorknob joining the laundry room to the game room has a lock on the handle, but no deadbolt. Guests also have access to complimentary firewood for use in our large fire pit. Additional propane is provided for our outdoor grill and fire table. Guests also have access to our storage shed, which contains yard games, marshmallow forks, two paddle boards, and life jackets. Our home has a basement crawl space that contains mechanicals and has no guest access. Many of the requirements in our house rules are dictated by our local village’s short-term rental ordinance and are beyond our control. Our standard check-in time is 4:00 p.m., and our standard check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Furniture and decor may differ from the photos, as we constantly strive to maintain the comfort, quality, and cleanliness of our home's furnishings. Unfortunately, vacation rental platforms use A.I. to describe some of our amenities and the location of our home. Chicory Cottage's distance to Kangaroo Lake public access is 0.3 miles (not 100ft or a one-minute walk, as Airbnb describes). This home has a septic system, and no products other than toilet paper are permitted to be flushed down our toilets. ★IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION★ Please review our entire listing carefully, including the house rules, before submitting your booking request. We require an electronically signed renter agreement and a $300 security deposit hold for all bookings. These requirements help ensure that all guests understand and follow our policies, protecting both the property and the quality of your stay. This process is fully permitted under Airbnb’s Terms of Service for software-integrated hosts, as long as it is disclosed in advance. To comply with Wisconsin state law and local short-term rental ordinances, once your booking request is accepted, you will receive a secure, encrypted link via Airbnb message. This link will direct you to: •Our point-of-contact form •A security deposit hold authorization form •Our standard rental agreement Wisconsin law requires vacation rental operators to collect the full name and contact information of all registered guests. In addition, our insurance provider requires a signed rental agreement. Our agreement is straightforward and includes: •House rules •A waiver of liability and assumption of risk •Maximum occupancy limit (6 guests) •Cancellation policy •Ordinance requirements for the Village of Baileys Harbor Security Deposit Details: •The $300 deposit is a credit card hold (not a charge and then refund) processed through our secure management software and credit card processor. •The hold is scheduled to process two days before arrival, and it is released after departure, provided there are no damages to address. We insure every stay for accidental damage. The security deposit hold is intended to provide protection in the rare instance of significant, intentional damage that falls outside the coverage of our damage insurance policy. •The name on the credit card must match the name of the guest who submitted the booking request. To finalize your reservation and avoid cancellation, please complete the rental agreement, point of contact form, and schedule the security deposit hold before your free cancellation period expires.
