Description
Situated right in the heart of the picturesque conservation town of Inveraray, 1 Main Street West offers everything you need for a break away from it all. With two spacious bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), this characterful flat offers easy access to a host of outstanding facilities right on the doorstep. A stone's throw from the water, you'll enjoy some of the best photo opportunities around! Just 1.5 hours from Glasgow, it offers an accessible base to explore Argyll & the West of Scotland. The space The flat was recently refurbished, offering a clean and modern space to stay, but retaining the character and charm of the old listed building it sits within. Tastefully decorated and offering a practical open plan kitchen/living room layout, it is the ideal home-from-home. Pets are very welcome, but please keep them off soft furnishings (or bring blankets). There is a £10 each charge for pets (normally a maximum of 2), payable at the property. Guest access The apartment is on a bus route, so can be easily accessed by bus from Glasgow, Oban or Campbeltown - the bus stop is just round the corner (100 yards), and there are a great number of facilities within walking distance. If you want to bring a car, there is limited on-street parking at the door. There is a pay and display car park at the harbour at the end of the road (200 yards), free parking beside Inveraray Jail (200 yards), or beside the Co-Op (5 minutes walk - 0.3 miles). You are advised to double check rates/terms when parking in case of changes. Other things to note Centrally located, the flat offers the perfect place to enjoy all aspects of Argyll. Turn left to the edge of the water (200 yards), and you have the opportunity to take stunning photos and catch up with some of the local wildlife. Turn to your right, and you're only 200 yards from Inveraray Jail, one of Scotland's top visitor attractions. Eat in one of the many local cafes, browse the local craft shops, then head over to the iconic Castle. If you're feeling energetic, head up to Dun na Cuaich the hill above the Castle for some of the most spectacular views out over Inveraray and Loch Fyne. Back at the flat, you can relax with all the comforts of home (including a washing machine incase you get muddy) before crossing the road for dinner at The George - a historical hotel offering exceptional food, extremely popular with locals and tourists alike. WiFi is provided free of charge for your convenience, subject to service providers network status. Please note that the TV uses the internet only - a BBC iPlayer account is logged in, but guests will need to use their own accounts for other services (such as Netflix). Please remember it is a listed building, and in the middle of the Main Street - so you may hear some noise from the flat upstairs or road. We have fitted secondary glazing to help minimise any disruption (and the road is usually quiet at night).
