Wood-Burning Fireplace There’s nothing cozier than gathering around a crackling wood fire after a day in the mountains. 🔥 Firewood Available On-Site: We offer kiln-dried bundles for purchase directly at the home. Each bundle includes large logs, kindling, and a firestarter — making it far easier to get a fire going than the lightly dried wood often sold at grocery stores or gas stations. Buying on-site also saves you a trip down the mountain. We only charge $10 per bundle, which is our cost. Please contact us if you would like to purchase some. 🌲 Natural Fireplace Aroma: Because this is a real wood-burning fireplace, a faint wood-smoke scent may linger at times. Our chimney is professionally cleaned and inspected, our cleaners air out the home between stays, and our HVAC system filters the air — but we avoid chemical sprays or odor maskers out of respect for guests with sensitivities. Guests will have access to the entire home except the unfinish basement storage space, and a few locked closest for owner and cleaning storage. ⭐Golf Club NO ACCESS: Unfortunately, the country club and golf course are too expensive for us to offer to guests, and the club does not allow guests to book separate tee times or club ACCESS. ⭐Access & Community Notes: • Wolf Laurel is gated; guests must check in at the gate. • Pool Access is seasonal from May to Sept. • Entry roads are paved; side roads are gravel but maintained. • Motorcycles are not permitted in the resort. • Spotty cell service is common — use Wi-Fi calling. • Closest full grocery store: 30 minutes away in Mars Hill. • Local general store nearby with basics. • We do not provide firewood — grab some on your way in! ⭐Winter Travel Advisory: • 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended in winter. • Roads are plowed and treated, but conditions can vary. • Come prepared and bring groceries/supplies in case snow makes for a cozy cabin day! ⭐LOCATION HIGHLIGHTS: • <2 miles to Hatley Pointe Ski Resort • 20-35 minutes to Mars Hill (groceries, restaurants) • 40 minutes to downtown Asheville • 50 minutes to the Biltmore Estate & Blue Ridge Parkway Other things to note Though the WIFI is strong, Wolf Laurel Resort has spotty cell service throughout the community. WIFI calling is available in the home and you may have regular cell service on the property but it is not guaranteed. Currently, we do not provide firewood. Firewood would need to be brought in and we recommend purchasing it from the gas station right off the highway on your way to our cabin. The new HVAC system is controlled by the remote holstered on the wall by the bookshelf. It can take up to 5-10 minutes to switch from heat to cool or turn on when activated. Press mode until the icon shows either a sun or a snowflake. Then wait and it will turn on if the desired temp is met. That outcome doesn’t help anyone. No refunds will be given for things that were clearly disclosed in the listing. We’re happy to relist the dates, and if we’re able to rebook them at an equal or higher rate, we will gladly refund you in full for those nights (minus Airbnb’s fees).
